Emmanuel Adebayor

Chelsea are apparently lining up a shock deal to sign Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Spurs ace is reportedly being targeted with Chelsea looking to replace Didier Drogba at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho worked with Adebayor at Real Madrid in the past, and while the Togo forward has a reputation for being a disruptive influence, the Blues are ready to take a risk on him.

Tottenham want Adebayor to go and would be happy to accept a small fee in order to get his £100,000-a-week wages off their bill.

This would be a pretty bonkers deal.

Well I guess Bamford will be on loan to boro when they qualify for PL. I wouldnt mind him taking at Chelsea.

Why should we loan him out again? He is turning 22 this year, he's had a fantastic season, this is his time to step on the next level. Even if Boro qualifies for PL they will fight against relegation which is not optimal for a young striker. I hope we'll bring him back and he can take his chance. Training with world class players and play 15-20 games for Chelsea could be benefitial for him.

Signing Ade would be pointless IMO.

That is not going to happen. This is Chelsea/Mourinho you are talking about. How many games as Remy started being 2nd choice striker? Bamford will be wasted here if we keep him next season. Remy is a quality striker and only starts if Costa is injured or in the cup games. Bamford is a very good striker but can you imagine him being up against Costa and Remy. Where are the minutes going to come from? He will end up being like Ake where he trains with the first team. Gets a few bench appearances then when he realises he is not getting much action he then will leave out on loan.

Just like everyone else, thinking this is a complete BS story. But considering we are managed by Mourinho and knowing him, he would rather go for someone like Adebayor than even give youth an opportunity. If we really get him in the summer, then it might be best that some of the lads consider leaving the club where there are actually opportunities to shine.

Hello everyone!

Honestly, if we recover Patrick Bamford (September 5, 1993. 21 years old) next season to have him as our third option that just would cut off his excellent progression.

For me the best option for Bamford would be next season with Boro playing 40 games between Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. With that experience and seeing his great progression in the last year, I'm sure Patrick Bamford could come back to us when he is 22 years with experience and level to directly compete to be our first choice as fordward.

It would be terrible cut off his tremendous progression. This guy needs to play every week. Right now every day for Bamford means a giant step to become a great player with us. Step by step and with 22 years and one year of experience in Premier League ... Bamford can have a huge level.

Regarding Adebayor, or "Manolito" like us in Spain we call him affectionately, I think it might be a good opportunity for our third choice. Again, as our third option. Diego is indisputable, Remy is a good second choice but perhaps the club by signing another player bets as Icardi, Dybala or Harry Kane (perhaps impossible). But we need someone to take the place of Drogba and experienced player.

Not many players accept to be the third option of a team, but Adebayor would accept that role without creating problems. I remember his time at Real Madrid with Jose and do not remember a player more fun, friendly and good person than "Manolito" Adebayor.

I think to have a great season we have to have 20/22 years players who can help the team, and for that we need players like Adebayor. Or any experienced player. Having a child 20 years as third choice would kill him.

Today in Catalonia sports newspaper reports that Jose Mourinho SPORT is very interested in signing Alex Song for 10 million Euros (£ 7.32 million). Are obviously not transfer dreamed for us all, but they are the type of players that help win trophies. Against PSG, for example, Drogba occupy an important role in extra time, perhaps better than Diego that day ..

This types of players with experience are critical at the end of the season.

Regards.

Aké is a defensive player, it'd more risky to play him. Strikers are rotated more often. Rémy played 23 times this season, Drogba featured 33 times.

But then, how many of those were starts? Remy has started only 7 times while Drogba managed 9.

This is not mathematics, not an exact science. You may be right but what if Pat needs to be around players like Costa to step on the next level? Harry Kane has experienced rivals like Soldado or Adebyor but Spurs didn't loan him out. Wilson got his chance at Manchester United altough there are world class strikers there.

Also, Middlesbrough is currently 3rd in the Championship. What if they don't qualify?

he has only started 5 games for Chelsea...the substitute appearances don't matter as Remy is an experienced striker. He should know how to make an impact off the bench..

As for Bamford, if he started only 5 games next season, his development would be ruined. Best option would be to loan him/sell him to Boro, where the manager trusts him as a regular, see how he develops in the EPL and then make a decision at the end of the season
