Jase 43,479
Jose Mourinho considers move for Brad Friedel - aged 44Unsurprisingly, Mourinho is searching for Cech's replacement. But some of the choices are questionable. Apart from Friedel, Robert Green, John Ruddy, Shay Given and Craig Gordon have been mentioned...

nyikolajevics 2,707
:D - 44 years old- former Liverpool and Spurs player- currently a 3rd choice GK- not homegrown- haven't played regularly for yearsTop signing it'd be.
BlueLyon 9,359
Begovic would be great. Or Ruddy as he is homegrown.
Bosnian Blue 2,471
Begovic won't come to sit on the bench, he's one of the best goalies in the league.
Tomo 21,751
Given or Freidel would be disastrous, like Schwarzer, both to far over the hill to be number 2 here.
nyikolajevics 2,707
Friedel, Given - HUGE NO. This is Chelsea, we won't sign Aston Villas 2nd or Spurs' 3rd GK. They are not HG either.Begovic - Fantastic player, would love to see him here but he reportedly turned down multiple top clubs because he didn't want to be a benchwarmer. I don't know if he'd change his mind, maybe a fat check will do it.Green, Gordon - I don't really trust them. They are like Reina: they can present fantastic saves but they flop a lot either.Ruddy: seems to be a good choice. Decent goallie, Englishman(which is important because we are running out of them), experienced.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_RuddyHe has played for 12 clubs! Anelka who? Amblève. 4,995
Yeah, Begovic's impossible, you don't even need to think about it. Dude's only behind Courtois, Cech and De Gea in the PL.

Anelka who?Craig Gordon has rarely made a mistake since he came back after 2-3 years out of the game suffering from a major injury except for one against Inter Milan. I would take him as our number 2 if he can maintain his fitness for the rest of this season, no doubt about it he's more than reliable to be a number 2 at a club like Chelsea. If we are looking for reliable GKs to be number 2 him or Hull's Alan McGregor or even someone like Ben Foster would be a great number 2 and wouldn't cost a lot. John Ruddy is vastly overrated, Green is also overrated. Begovic? Ffs we're dreaming surely if we think he'll come here to play once every 2 months. Viper22 2,418
Ruddy for me. Solid, good (but not so good that he won't be happy not starting - like Begovic), HG, lots of PL experience, English and a nice bloke. Butland, Bond or Steele might be decent alternatives, albeit all lack PL experience which is crucial.

I haven't seen Gordon play for Celtic yet, my opinion is based on his appearances for Sunderland. His rival was a Hungarian goallie(Fülöp Márton) so I followed them and I recall a few mistakes from Gordon and I also remember that he got injured every season for a month or two. That 2-and-a-half-years long break seems to be pretty long too..He is only 31 but already suffered arm, anlke, knee and tigh injuries, which is a little worrying. I don't want Dr. Biesca to have a new best friend.http://www.transfermarkt.de/craig-gordon/verletzungen/spieler/12589McGregor and Foster are fine, I wouldn't mind one of them. Green is overrated? Who overrates him? I have only heard bad about him and I don't think he is that good either. One more thing: are McGregor and Gordon homegrown players? I don't know if players are required to play in England or the UK.
