bombayblue™ 55
exactly, you can't have a young experienced quality keeper sitting on the bench can you, and hwen they don't get enough first team chances they nmove on, carson?
.Cee 50
Sorry forgot about Raneiri. Every manager we've had under ambrovich has been ill treated. Hopefully we've finally got a long term manager who will be succesfull. It's too darn bad no Chelsea managers lasted more than 3 or 4 seasons. EskWeston 696
Well Solari has pretty much confirmed that we are not going to see him here past 4/5 years. Which i don't think is a major suprise to most people because of his age. But i think most people would like to see something more long term in place, to really build something. On the other hand i just can't wait for the 1st July and for Scolari to get in the hotseat and start working with OUR players and discussing the future with CFC. When was the last time we had a manager lasted for more than 4 seasons?

Yeah, but it doesn't mean that it can't happen at some point. It is possible, but who knows when we will find taht right man for the job... Kez 2,727
We had the right man for the job. But even that didnt keep abramovich happy
BlueLion. 21,491
Its clear Abramovich wants instant success, and instant success means changing manager every few years I guess.
warnie_666 1,081
But the players dont like such instability. Carvalho already took a swipe at Chelsea for the way they treated Grant which isnt a good think.
Kez 2,727
If we'd of kept Mourinho last season we'd of won at least one trophy
BlueLion. 21,491
Hindsight is a beautiful thing, isn't it? But if you look at it, Grant came so close to a treble last season, hopefully Scolari can go one better and win something.

He didnt get anywhere by sitting on his hands when decisions had to be made. He's been doing it from he was no age, I just wish he's take some prozac and calm the fuck down. Milan 17,956
Heads up - don't call him Big Phil ! "I might find it hard adapting to the ways of football in England, to the rain, and maybe to the food. But I will do it," Scolari said. "But one thing I cannot adapt easily to is when they call me Big Phil. I don't want to see my name spelled with a 'Ph', I want to see it spelled with an F. It is Felipe, not Phil. I will not allow anyone in England or anywhere else to change my name."

Elliott 7
I did wonder how that came about when his real name is Felipe. On my old Champ Man he is called by the nickname Felipão, wonder why that is no longer used?

But we've been doing that since like forever, so he's just continuing our tradition. I wish it'd stop at some point tho'...
pippin 0
to be honest i think we will be lucky to win something next season. our new manager hasnt managed at club level so it will be interesting to see how he takes to it and also he has a dislike of the press and they have a very healthy dislike of anything Chelsea so i see that as a portenital problem. also i see us changing personell so i think its going to be more of a building season. just hope that if we dont win everything he isnt sidelined but who knows with our owner. you watch now i have written this we will do the quad

Stamford 3
Yeah, but it doesn't mean that it can't happen at some point. It is possible, but who knows when we will find taht right man for the job... Under Jose and hopefully four/five years under Big Fil Steve Clarke could be the right man, he is Chelsea through and through and knows this club better than anyone. You don't have to have a big name in European football to be a winner.
misschief 24
Do you honestly see Scolari staying that long? His past history has to suggest otherwise surely?
