Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
Was a great prospect for a time, but seems to have injury problems.
CHOULO19 24,332
On a free there is literally nothing to lose and all to gain. He's homegrown, versatile and could show the quality that we all know he has. I'd say he's well worth a shot.
boshman 1,073
On a free, why not. When fit he can be a fantastic player. Strong as an ox. Fast for a big man. English. I'd be happy with it if it happened.

didierforever 7,349
it would be a decent buy. cover for RB and CB. but with zouma/kalas/omerou, it would do nothing but take any small amount of time available to them.
SouthKorea 38
Is Richards being considered because he's English, therefore homegrown?City started zabaleta and signed sagna over him and he hasnt played for england in ages.

No, not because he's English. He was with City through their academy and so trained for 3 years before he was 18/21 (I forget the exact wording). That's why you don't have to be English to be HG.--I'd love Richards here.. If he played. But I fear he'd be signed because he's HG and would be on the fringes behind Ivanovic, which is a great tragedy. He's 26 and he's got a real chance to impose himself in the England team (competition of Kyle Walker & Glen Johnson gives him an easy run). But he's also got to be clever, the move he makes now can be make or break.
Liquidator 5,176
signed him on FM 2011 and won back to back titles and a Champions League (although the 2013 5-3 loss to Arsenal in the final at San Siro still leaves me waking up in a panic at 3AM to this day) and he wasn't too bad. Neither was Jesus Navas just ahead of him. I'm basically Pellegrini but 450 years younger

DCS1984 28
Well Mourinho did want him in his first spell at the club -> http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/chelsea-target-richards-to-fill-the-terry-void-429954.htmlHowever as a poster above has said, City have 2 RBs better than him in Zabaleta and Sagna and hasn't kicked on for years.Possibly I'd take him as he's home grown but for his own career, he's better off going to Villa or Newcastle level teams and getting some first team football instead of warming our bench. DH1988 1,350
Means either Dave or branislav would be moving on surely. Strange one, would take him on reduced wages for sure as under John and Jose he has every chance to reignite his career, physically it's still there but it was always attitude with him, I remember him being injured and shopping for Aston martins.. Didn't bode well and pretty much summed him up when a video was released of a bird noshing him n his pal off in Manchester shopping centre toilets. RoyalBlues 4,050
For free yes, as long as he is okay with rotation, and not moan about it.
LAM09 7,064
The only plus about signing him would be, adding another player to our HG quota. We already have two able RB's.
Moustradamus 60
Still remember when Mancini made a joke about Micah being made of glass. Chelsea is an elite team, we don't want an over the hill injury prone player. This rumor has no legs.
