I think it helped that the exact same players had played 3 matches in 7 days and looked exhausted. Plus, for some reason we insisted on playing through the middle and not exploit the wide areas. And, to be fair, you parked the bus extremely well :P

I believe Mourinho felt it was a dangerous game where we could concede a goal and it would become difficult for us, so he opted for the best of solution in no rushing our attacks, overall, Sunderland fully deserved their "win" .

i hate these 3 words "PARK THE BUS".. it was a solid defensive performance from sunderland. whats more, they had better chances to score in the last 15-20 minutes than we had in the whole game.

saying "parking the bus" is belittling a good defensive performance.

After getting hammered 8 nil at Southampton we've had to start our season again, at the moment it's just important that we don't get beat. Chelsea will win the title and looking back this will be an decent point for you lot as we'll probably take points off other top sides at the SOL. Lets just hope we don't need to win the last game of the season to stay up :)

BTW - over 45,000 there today and I was impressed by how many you brought.

We've got one of the best away following in the league. Always turn up with great numbers.

You guys did very well though, thoroughly deserved the points. Hopefully it's the beginning of something new for you guys this season. Expect you guys to start taking points from the other bigger teams as well.

You were one of the few teams who knew how to play against us. We've adopted this strategy numerous times before ourselves, so we know what it takes and how it feels in the end. Well done to you. I'm slightly disappointed with Chelsea, but I have nothing against you like some do. You even got a lot of praise from Mourinho, when he talked about defending a lot and well being a legitimate strategy, his face changed to like "I know what I'm talking about".

Manchester United - 43,217

Tottenham - 40,799

Swansea - 41,325

Stoke - 42,713

Arsenal - 44,449

Everton - 43,476

Chelsea - 45,232

Our average - 43,030

Not bad considering we never win anything.

I honestly won't mind that result, on one condition Mr Sunderland representative.

Your boys MUST play against City & Utd exactly like that. Defend impeccably for 75mins then brutal counter-attacking for 15mins.

Please? :).

TBF we've already drawn against Man U at the SOL this season and beat them at Old Trafford last season. We've also got a canny record against City. :D

Simple fact is Sunderland cant play football. When they try they get demolished. Lets see how well they "defend" against City. Bet they get smashed, only seem to defend well against us.

You really need to look at our recent record at City to realise you're talking shite :D

And I remember the semi-final against Barca when Chelsea had 24% possesion with no shots on or off target.

But I'm not here to antagonise, I like Chelsea and want them to win the league.

I hate the phrase "parking the bus".

Defending is a fucking art. The perfect defence is almost unobtainable. You will almost always concede many chances in a match, but to be able to hold such defensive rigidity against the side that is arguably the best team in world football at the minute, certainly top three with Bayern and Real, deserves real commendation. Sunderland defended beautifully yesterday and they deserved a point. It doesn't matter how shit they were against Southampton; they were miserly against us and warranted a return from the game in terms of points. I salute their showing.
