different level 1,056
Am I the only one who is sick that our current team is being constantly compared with Arsenal's invincibles like they are the best team to ever grace the Premier League? I think we've already had that...10 years ago and that season we broke so many records that I'm surprised the media is putting more focus on Arsenal's 03/04.We might have lost one more game (to a penalty) but we also won 3 more games (which was also a record - 29 wins in a single season), had the highest number of points in the history of the PL (95) and also set the record for most clean sheets in a season (25). We've also had higher goal difference than Arsenal in 03/04, won more trophies and went further than them in the Champions League. We also knocked them out of the Champions League in the 03/04 season. I just don't think that 1 less loss outweighs how much better we did. It's probably something that has been discussed a lot in the past, but I'm interested to read some opinions on the matter. Liquidator 5,176
Our 2005/06 team pisses all over the Invincibles statistically. We would have been invincible in 2004/05 if Paulo Ferreira hadn't committed that stupid foul on Anelka too.

Paulo the hedgehog, I guess he had too much STING in him to let that fucker (Anelka u say?) get too close to him.

Tautvix 1,321
This "invincibles" is really annoying... For example, you can have 38 draws in a season and you will be called invincible lolP.S. These legendary Arsenal invincibles lost in the CL quarter final vs Chelsea... We better don't be invincibles like that
Bosnian Blue 2,471
P.S. These legendary Arsenal invincibles lost in the CL quarter final vs Chelsea... We better don't be invincibles like that Wayne Bridge, Eidur Gudjohnsen, it's Bridge.. It's in! It's Chelsea's night! https://myspace.com/carefreerob/video/bridgey-vs-arsenal/1022558

That Arsenal team were stunning going forwards and great in defence. Our 04/05 and 05/06 teams were ridiculously hard to beat, would socre 1 or 2 then shut the game down.Might not be popular but I think that the Man Utd treble winning team of 98/99 was the best PL team so far. I'd rather win a treble than go undefeated for the PL season or get the points record, and I think Man Utd did it very well that season, begrudgingly. But yeah, I agree, our 04/05 team was better than the 03/04 Arsenal team, and 1 loss in that season doesn't change that.

Ryan Fong 2,776
Our 04/05 team was THE most dominant force I've ever witnessed in EPL. Most wins 29; most away wins 15; most points 95; fewest goals conceded 15; most clean sheets 25! Beat that invincible my arse.

Those guys are making history.IS is a stretch, a very big stretch. Actually currently they are nothing, as Jose said - no titles, no trophies, no nothing. Will become, maybe it's fair to think that, but at the moment - nothing
zolayes 14,489
the original Invincibles were Preston North End ,,, look where they are now and the gooners might join them in a year or two

boshman 1,073
You think about it, we effectively went a season unbeaten anyway on our 40 match unbeaten run!! Invincibles :blue scalf:

Those guys are making history.Your opinion is legitimate of course but I must say that I hate this thread. This team has won absolutely nothing yet so they do not deserve to be compared with any great sides. If they manage to bring home a trophy, there will be plenty of time to indulge in all the comparisons we want.
DH1988 1,348
Very annoying, Arsenal played for draws that season and sacrificed the UCL aswell - If Wenger had taken it more seriously then perhaps Jose might not have been European champion and en-route to Chelsea!
