If Remy+Costa can't play:

Courtois

Iva Gary JT Luis

Ramires Matic

Willian Cesc Schurrle

Hazard

Rami instead of Oscar to give more defensive stability, give Hazard a free role and let him damage their defence.

No one knows your body better than you. Now let's hope he is all right. Groin injuries can be frustrating at times and keep you out for a long time.

Oscar is in the form of his life. If he can't start against a top dog now, then when will he? Definite starter imo

Clearly the solution is to start Oscar and get up a few THEN bring on Ramires to kill the game. He hasn't played in weeks there's no way Mourinho starts him now.

Thank you. People talk about the king like he's some rubbish player or worse, Torres!

Its clear he's past his best but on his day his physicality can still impact a game...

Having said that I think Costa will play

As Chelsea fans, we all share in the Drogba worship but I'd hate to loose the tradition where The King means one man, and one man only. 'King Didier', 'King Drog', or even 'the current King' work for me but I'd like to think that the title, 'The King' is permanently taken. From what Didier has said in the past I think he agrees. :)

Are we speaking of King Ossie? Sure he was the first king but as history shows there will always be a successor to the crown. I never saw Peter play but I respect him as a club legend, historians rave about him! But the KING moniker can't be a one man show...

by the way, I call Drogba KING more for what he does off the field than on it

This kid always wants to drop Oscar every game...

Yea, and he's as good at CF as he is in midfield, right?

Pretty sure Cesc is a better false 9 than Solanke is..

Not like Cesc doesnt play false nine for barca/spain. Not like him and Oscar can interchange and have rambo play in the midfield 2... Think before you talk..

This is a potential banana skin. We aren't Chelsea if we don't make lives difficult for ourselves after all :D

The most difficult question is definitely who is going to play up top. I wouldn't start Shirley there after last season. I think Chelsea TV had one of the guys (probably pat) analysing his game and pointed out how he doesn't get into the right positions for a striker. Honestly doubt Remy will be fit since muscle strains may take awhile to recover from. Costa is a big question mark though since we don't really know if it's mind games or not from our boss. The other 2 realistic options would be Drogs and Solanke. Now I like drogs but let's face it he is clearly past his best. Putting him on for a big part of the match would probably be a bad idea. Giving a youngster his first start at OT may not be ideal too.

Hence, I think we should put Ivanovic as our striker  But in all seriousness it seems like we played without a striker for years so we should be able to win it without one.

Not sure how much off a muscle strain it is though, he come off before it as it started to feel uncomfortable, it's is the kind I strain I think it is it can be recovered from enough to play in around 3-4 days at the quickest so I would say he's a possibility

Just to ease my fears, I googled 'The King of Stamford Bridge' and was relieved to see wall to wall hits for Ossie. I only scrolled through the first few pages of results but, that far at least, there were no hits on Drogba.

I did see The King play so it sounds like I'm older than you, I'd guess quite a bit older. What Chelsea fans come to think and feel in the future will be decided by the younger fans of course and what I want won't come into it. Even so, as I said, I really would hate this particular tradition to be thrown away.

The title 'The King of Stamford Bridge' is not, in my opinion, a transferable one. It absolutely should be a one man show. It's not about who is currently the best loved or most talented player; it's about a personality who has been anointed by fans to embody, for all time, the spirit of the club. In the same way that Bekenbauer will always be 'Der Kaiser', Ali will always be 'The Greatest', and Jose 'The Special One'; Ossie will always be The King. At least I hope so. :)

I hate to put fear back in you but...

I see you're side of it, its not a huge deal though... The King of Stamford Bridge will always be Ossie, Drogba has often been referred to as the King of Wembley...

There have been so many players called the KING, its probably the most transferable moniker out there (see Cantona and Henry)
