LAM09 7,056
I wouldn't say it's a must win, but we should have more than enough to beat them. We already slipped up against Schalke, so we need to make sure we don't the same mistake twice.
OneMoSalah 8,886
Must win game.Would prefer to see us play as a 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 rather than 4-2-3-1 but who knows. I'd imagine since Sporting are at home they will look to keep the ball and take the game to us from the beginning which could suit us down to the ground if we play more on the counter as we are the away team. Not saying we wouldn't beat Sporting if we went gun ho but we need to get a win and after that goal we conceded in the Schalke game I wouldn't be surprised if we were a bit more cautious against a fairly decent side. Courtois Ivanovic - Cahill - Terry - Luis Matic Schurrle - Ramires - Cesc - Hazard Costa Wait is Ramires injured?
mannyfreshh 164
We need our strongest team for this game. Sporting will be very difficult to beat at home. We can lose this if we don't start a strong team.

MrExcalibur100 7,124
I dunno, Mourinho is going to have to be clever with his team selection for this one. Team rotation has to be considered I guess.
CHOULO19 24,332
We should learn from the Schalke game. The way to keep our key players fresh is to start with the strongest team, build a lead and then sub them off. We can't afford to completely drop anyone except Costa. TheChelseaDane 48
You reckon Aké playing this match? Can't see Mou playing him in this important match. I reckon he'll play it safe, and play Matic - Cesc. And then Oscar playing the OM position.

I think with our leaky defense it would be worth a shot. He played really well vs Bolton.
Daniel1980 1,425
Think Ramires may still be injured.TiboBrana-Cahill-JT-LuisMatic-AkeWillian-Cesc-HazardRemyI'd like that, but can't see Ake starting in such an important match. Matic-Fab seems to be our default midfield when Ramires is out. Unless we use Matic-Mikel with Cesc as #10. It is possible I suppose, since Oscar played 2 games last week and will likely play against Arsenal too.
Special Juan 28,141
Too big of a game for Ake, big difference between Bolton and Sporting Lisbon. Maybe bring him on if things get comfortable but for me we must start with the strongest possible line up.

This game is more or less a must win, so therefore the strongest team avaliable must be played, but of course with the Arsenal game in mind. Could maybe see Mikel starting, even though I'm not his biggest fan, he still brings some stability.
