BenIsLegend 475
Lots saying the East Stand should be renamed in honour of him and I completely agree. Without him we probably wouldn't be at Stamford Bridge anymore, and we might not have even survived that as a club. We owe a lot to him as Chelsea fans. boshman 1,073
@zolayes Yes, saddened is a better way to put it. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/08/lord-attenborough-1923-2014.htmlFantastic article on the Chelsea website about the man. I never realised how influential he was in saving The Bridge. We have him to thank for so much. A stand named after him would be a great honour for a man we can probably never thank enough. Magic Lamps 11,692
Deeply saddened by his death. One of the greatest directors in the film business of all times and also a world class actor. I will never forget his wroks esp. Gandhi and Cry freedom but also shadowland and a bridge too far are very underrated movies - coincidentially the latter is is about young men going from Britain to Arnheim for work. Sounds familiar to me^^
Madmax 9,219
Truly saddened to learn about this. Jurassic Park was a big part of my childhood and once older, I appreciated Gandhi, Chaplin and Cry Freedom. Rest In Peace.

The only place to be 11,313
It was always a point of pride that this man held such a position within the club. A fine actor, a great director and an absolute gentleman whose importance to this club's history cannot be understated. RIP.
CHOULO19 24,332
RIPI think it's only fitting that the man who helped us stay at Stamford Bridge, among many other things, gets a stand named after him. I hope the club does seriously consider honouring him by doing just that.

Would love to see something like that happen. We'll be wearing black armbands at Everton too. Somewhat fitting this should happen on a Bank Holiday weekend though....somewhere The Great Escape will be showing.
