Wow. What a fantastically promising match.

Quick, incisive, free-flowing football that we've been asking for in the opponents half for years now. No standing around like statues. Players pinging balls off of each other and some nice pass and move situations between Hazard, Cesc, and Luis.

Our back five players all looked great. Azpi looks much more comfortable and has a bit more courage on the right side and Luis looks great with the ball and made another great play on that recovery tackle.

Costa is going to light this league up. Always seems to know exactly where to be.

As good as we know we're going to be in the big games against top opponents, if we can manage to replicate this sort of performance against the sides we should be dominating we'll win the league.

I can't actually say that anyone had a bad match there. Oscar and Willian looked much better and sharper.

The best aspect of that performance was just how fluid and high tempo the passing moves were. One touch, two touch, give and gos, nice movement and good chemistry. Actually looked like a team and a group of players who know each other. The only one that seemed off was Luis today, however he did put in some niiice crosses.

Also Ake looks great, made huge strides this preseason. Everyone worried about Luis replacement in 3-4 years may not have to worry anymore. He's been great with the ball, great tackles, winning headers and knows when to overlap. He's been the biggest surprise of the pre-season for me. Didn't expect him to be this good at LB.

Gutted we stopped at 2-0 - but that was an amazing 20 minutes :)

Cesc was awesome sitting deep, helping the Tempo

Costa had great linkup play

I thought Oscar did ok - he was unlucky

Torres did better than expected

Ramires was good again apart from one stray pass :)

I loved MvG's crunching tackle near the end. SUPERB! I have a feeling he's going to be a really useful player this season and wish him all the luck in the World.

Just genuinely delighted with the Squad - so much strength and depth - just need the players to put in minimum 7/10 performances and as a team we should be contenders!

It's just so nice watching a forward run into the box for a change... ;)

Ohh and forgot to add AKE was amazing - this guy has a big future at the club - athletic and comfortable defending and getting down the flank!

We have some amazing youth prospects to come - and with us inside FFP regs - we really do have a bright future ;)
