Top Four Predictions

Its that time again. Will we win the league ? We havent had a top striker for four years. In the last 7 years we've had one season where a striker has been prolific (Drogba 29 goals in 2009/10). That apart, all our strikers have struggled massively - I include Drogba in that. In the 2 seasons before and after 2009/10 he only gave us 29 goals...shocking return in all honesty.

Will Torres find the net regularly along with Costa ? I'm very hopeful of this. He has all the ammo any striker could possibly want or need. Time to step up Nando and score 20+ goals. We need this desperately with Frank gone.

Not winning the League last season to my mind will do us a favour over the next few years. It helped the club see that Jose was right when addressing holes in the squad rather than plugging away and keeping on papering over cracks as we've done at times previously. To suggest it was Jose's inadequacies which led to those dropped points is harsh and lets off a lot of players who either underperformed, bottled it or just weren't good enough.

So, all in all I predict a top four of ; CHELSEA
MAN CITY
MAN UTD
EVERTON

Chelsea/City to fight is out for the top honors (may the best side win)

United/Arsenal/Liverpool to fight for the remaining 2 spot. Liverpool don't have a strong squad unless they pull out a rabbit out of the hat in the transfer window so it would be United (they will do well under LVG) and Arsenal (because they always make it to the top 4 so cannot count them out) for the next 2.

Still think it's all dependent on getting another striker. We must get rid of Torres and bring in a much better player as back up to Costa, if we don't it won't end well because we have all our eggs in the Costa basket.
