The Mak 4,459
Zouma is like Luiz-lite, physically he's awesome, but has some brain-farts that could lead to goals conceded or red card. He's still young though, so he clearly can improve.Agreed.To each his own I guess... To me he looks big, burly and clumsy. You still need to have a level of technique to play football, his best asset is his size and right now, to me he looks erratic. As I said previously, I'd much rather a 19 year old kid with massive potential making those sorts of mistakes than Luiz, a CB with close to a decade of extra experience. Who we were still waiting around for him to 'fulfil his potential', which was hilarious.
Melanicus 5,208
Boga is fucking magical, hope us & he don't fuck up in his development, could be the best player our youth team has ever produced.

He seems to be lacking in agility and technique.

Muzchap 8,966
Lol I just watched the game (recorded it as late in from work)I came to the thread expecting some negativity - but just WOW Lots of opinions being formed early.. Zouma is poor, Salah is rubbish, Baker is rubbish etc. It's Pre-Season key objective = fitness Secondary objective - exposé young players to more pressure - some will handle it immediately, some will take longer I have absolutely no problem in ascribing 'over-enthusiasm' to some performances and the more the lads play, the better they will get.Honestly, just chill out a little and reserve judgement for a bit - I mean every week I read stories complaining we don't use our reserve team players, we do and then the majority are shit lol RZ Pellets are no mugs - they had a good shape and worked hard - it was our 'Boys' playing against 'Men' and you know what they did ok - it's a major step up for them and they handled it (for the most part) well.In the same vein - Boga was great - but it will be 3-4 years before we see him regularly I feel. I'm just glad that we finally have talent coming through and credit to Jose - he is giving the young lads a chance and long may that continue. I'm genuinely excited about our long-term prospects - and I hope you guys are too - we're building something special...

Belgiannutt 3,201
Hazard should be looking to do more of that!Oh come on, Hazard frequently tries to lay the ball off to someone and play the one-two. A lot of the times he either gets completely ignored or the backpass just isn't good enough.
iseah100 5,612
Re: MVG, pretty funny how the opinion on him has swung around after one pre season match... Before this game he wasn't ready, now 'we don't need Khedira after all'... (Not singling you out stroey, just an example to make my point clearer). So he did good? Great!!! Been a big fan of his for a while.I have been DYING for a Matic-MVG pivot. Hopefully we get it a few times this year^_^Also, how was Bamford? Hope to see him as our 3rd choice striker. The Skipper 20,609
So he did good? Great!!! Been a big fan of his for a while.I have been DYING for a Matic-MVG pivot. Hopefully we get it a few times this year^_^They were like a wall. I think it's a combo we might see in games where we won't have most of the possession. He's a pretty nice replacement for Luiz (powerful player) in midfield I think. I think we'll can see a midfield 3 of MVG - Matic - Ramires in bigger games, especially if MVG starts the season well and grows accordingly. I'd love for him to start well and get a chance. He's got potential. I think if Oscar starts poor Cesc will take his spot and MVG will get more time.I'd like to see Bamford play a few more games before we make him our 3rd strikerYea, but he's got potential. Maybe as a 4th striker for like COC, FA Cup, and the odd league game. Why not?
Daniel1980 1,425
I'm all for MVG getting a chance, but the chances of him starting in big games this season are pretty slim, unless we have many injuries. And he's a box to box.
