What are the consequences of us appealing this? Can Diego now play against City on Saturday? If the appeal is unsuccessful can they increase the ban?

Yes to both of you're questions the majority of the time, but the FA seem to have fast tracked the appeal meaning he mightn't be available for Saturday's match.

If it gets 1 match extra he misses the Spurs game...VERY FOOLISH. Why on Earth does he think he can win? FA are cunts so they won't even consider it, the only reason they are even allowing it so it seems to support democracy and doesn't look like some dictatorship judgement.

Saying that he deserves it and should accept his 3 matches ban, now he will lose the appeal and miss the Spurs game :(

If Costa loses the appeal, he'll games against Man City(H), Aston Villa(A), Everton(H) and Burnley(H). The Tottenham is after that sequence.

If it's fast tracked and a decision is made before the Citeh game he won't

We'll definitely know the results tomorrow, according to what has been reported.

it's contagious in a very positive way:

Eden said,

Yes, yes, yes. When you play with this guy, you have to give everything. You can see in every action and for every ball, he gives his life.

Can't ask Diego to hold that back; get a proper replacement (perhaps Remy though not sure) to play the odd games Diego will be unavailable.

I'm convinced Diego knew what he was doing. I don't know about stamping but he was trying to hurt them a bit, annoying them, trying to affect their game. But I have to agree with Neville, you can't prove it. There have been a lot more incidents where the intent was (more) obvious. So yeah, doesn't deserve a ban.

what if the answer is neither? perhaps it was not as premeditated as suggested, nor as casual. He prob thought, "i'm gonna get to the ball even if I have to walk all over this fucker lying on the ground." :)

Diego asked Terry for backup (pretty cool audio commentary): http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02hvkfv
