smiling is overrated, period

The picture on chelseafc.com is even funnier. Cesc is jumping into his arms with a huge smile on his face and Diego's facial expressions are as if he was just reading the paper

First of all, Cesc is a brave dude. I wouldn't jump on Costa and hope to survive the fall (or the punch). Second, I think his facial expression matches his feels about people jumping to hug him. He's probably a lot like you when it comes to hugging. Except you look like a cute Koala not a drug cartel chief.

Haha on second look, his expression does have a hint of "do that again and I'll kill you" look!

It seems like only Luis knows how to make him smile.

Not really in depth but here's a video of Costa vs Real with english commentary. No music. Really shows his fightermentality and his clever off the ball movement,

Don't know whether I'm watching a individual performance or a soap opera. Drogba has nothing on Costa.

From eurosport:

TALKING POINT

How did Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa fare on their debuts? Despite some nice touches, Costa looked isolated in the first half and similar to the player who featured in Spain’s disastrous World Cup campaign. But he improved in the second half and took his goal well after ghosting between two players. Meanwhile Fabregas looked impressive as a sitting midfielder and executed some deft through balls. And he produced a trademark pass to set up Costa’s goal.

Good thing Costa scored. I can imagine the massive criticism he would have received if he didn't.
