Van Ginkel, are you serious? Just like that huh?

He should be given the chance to fight for a place in the starting 11 but putting him there just like that without even knowing the form he's in or his chemistry with the team...

What does that mean, because if we get a new signing it wont deter him form starting because he does not have chemistry. From what I have seen he deserves his chance to start ahead of Ramires and Milkel both of who will not complete pre season and had average seasons. besides I dont heae you talking abt Fabregas not having chemistry with the team

Find it odd a lot of people are saying Azpi over Branna even if we get Luis at left back. Branna is very important for set plays so I see him remaining as our starting right back due to the fact he is used strategically by Mourinho to get us higher up the park from goal kicks as opposed to the slow building from the back like under Andre. The fact hes also able to play center back means that when Mourinho wants to put on another striker like he done at Madrid frequently by withdrawing Marcelo/Coentrao and also here last season a few times replacing Cole with Torres or Ba, it makes it easier for him to play 3-5-2 as opposed to having to use Azpi as a right sided center back where he isn't familiar.

4-3-3

Courtois/Cech

Branna - Cahill - JT - Luis

Matic

Ramires - Cesc/Oscar

Willian - Costa - Hazard

3-5-2

Courtois/Cech

Branna - Cahill - JT

Matic

Willian - Ramires - Cesc/Oscar - Hazard

Costa - Torres/Lukaku

Ramires hasnt been on form for a long long time now. Dont think he deserves a starting position this season.

Apart from running he doesnt excel in any aspect of the game, whether it be first touch, passing, tackling.

Im not bashing him, but with the riches we have in midfield, dont see his purpose in the team, specially when you have matic in there as well.

We dont need a defensive right winger anymore as Willian does that really well, and is good attacking as well.

Either way, i would hope he proves me wrong considering he has been very frustrating to watch without producing the goods in a long long time.

One of these depending on the opposition. The one on the right is something I predict Mourinho to use against the top teams, especially away from home.

These lineups are giving me a boner.

The first one gave me a boner, the second one removed it instantly. Ramires bah.

While I don't necessarily disagree with that, what would be the case for Mourinho to drop Azpi, a player who had performed consistently last season and one who had been praised on more than one occasion by Mourinho himself. Granted, the points you mentioned above does give Ivanovic the advantage over Azpi but on the other hand, the latter provides a tad more going forward and never mind being cautious or defensive in certain matches, some times that bit of quality in going forward from your FBs could help turn a game in your team's favour.

I think this won't be a huge problem. I get the set-piece advantage and I also think that Brana's going to be Jose's first choice at the right-back but if we were to have a back line of Azpilicueta-Cahil-Terry-Luis , initiating that plan B wouldn't be a problem because Jose could take off Azpilicueta. Luis has played as CB when wanted to and Jose can make him do that again when we're planning to overload our attacking third.

Has he played at CB before? Oh well thats a relief because I know when Jose's chasing games that 3-5-2 is one of his main tactical switches to try get the team back in the game.

4-2-3-1

Courtois

Azpi-Cahill-JT-Luis

Cesc-Matic

Willian-Oscar-Hazard

Costa

I don't think Schurrle will start. His impact off the bench is huge, and a good weapon to have. Obviously he'll start some games, but he won't be a regular.
