Spike 12,049
The vitriol the Chelsea get is absolutely amazing. The hatred literally oozes from pundits, forums and every other media outlet in the world. The venom has reached a fever point after the Atletico Madrid match as apparently it's disgraceful to play defensive minded football and appreciate football in a way that differs from attacking like mindless coyotes.Well, are Chelsea the most vilified and despised club in Europe? Special Juan 28,140
Obviously I don't read other news outlets across the world, or many other forums but I bet we aren't far away from it in all honesty.Something I do know though, the Arsenal obsession with us is bordering on obsessive. Beepu 1,714
It used to bother me alot when someone hates us, but now I just don't care. Maybe I don't feel the hate as much because this forum is all chelsea, and in other forums there arent many hardcore fans that would just talk smack. It just makes our victories all the more rewarding when everyone's against us. “Look, we’re not entertaining? I don’t care; we win.” - The Special One
yuvala 2,167
We're definately the most hated.I was laughing so hard at the Israeli pundits last night.Everyone talks as if we play this way EVERY GAME, and they really over exaggerate the time-wasting. Man the pundits were soooo mad and wanted ATM to win so bad.. I was laughing my ass off

cosmicway 1,333
In football the result matters.I have been fascinated by Sweden national team in the past and I have seen Brazil performances that sucked. More often than not the opposite happens of course between those two, but it's a question of players and squad. How the nation approaches football -strong tactics or individualism- does n't matter.Argentina under Diegito went down 4-0 to Germany in SA. Where was their Latin flair ? Viper22 2,418
Man Utd are up there too but that's mainly due to success. But I would say yes we are. And I love it.Success breeds jealousy.Jealousy breeds a dislike.Dislike breeds irrational hate.I find it hilarious and pathetic that people hate us so much. Pizy 18,952
I'd say we are, yes.I actually love when people get angry at us and hate us when we're winning. It's times like this after the Atleti match and the recent slump we've been in where it gets really annoying and infuriating. Every pundit, every analyst, every journalist, and every supporter talking only about Chelsea and how boring we are or how defensive we play or how we play like a "small" club.Hopefully with the additions we make in the summer we can start to play some more aesthetically pleasing football to compliment our defense. didierforever 7,349
no doubt about it. the way everyone is talking about "park the bus" is like united, city and arsenal dint. whats worse is that they sucked at it. we dint have our no.1 striker(etoo), our no.1 AM(hazard), even if we had started oscar and schurrle instead of rambo and mikel, thus playing a 4-2-3-1, we would have had NOTHING to change from the bench. zilch-nada. moreover, the injuries to cech, and JT would have spoiled any and all of jose's plans of putting in oscar and/or schurrle to go their and grap a late winner. but no one looks at the dynamics of it. but who cares, we are chelsea. let the haters hate. dee25 1,044
I'm not exactly thrilled at how defensive we were against Atleti (I doubt many Chelsea supporters are) but I just find it so hilarious how outrage some rival fans and pundits were by our performance. Some of them are literally seething, one would think that we just committed a horrendous crime against humanity. People have this perception about Chelsea and are fully committed to believing that narrative regardless of whatever we do. At the end of the day I think we just can't let these people make us feel that we should be embarrassed by yesterday's performance and that Chelsea supporters shouldn't be proud of their team. Where were these cries of "negative football" when City played exactly the same way against Barca at the Etihad or when Arsenal did the same not only at the Allianz Arena but also when they played Dortmund away? Arsenal were stationed in their half for the majority of the game and only registered their only shot on target towards the end. Truth is, if it were so easy to do what we did yesterday then we wouldn't be the only English club left in the competition, now would we? petre.ispirescu 4,928
Arsenal, ManU City all parked the bus in the Champions League this season. Only they didn't do a good job of itArsenal, City, United parking the bus = heroic performanceChelsea parking the bus = boring football, ultra defensive approach, ugly/prehistoric football, 90 minutes of eye bleeding etc. etc.Hatters gonna hate. Isn't that fancy football the reason they can't get past the Group-stage? Or Quarter-finals?
The only place to be 11,313
Possibly. Sometimes I wonder if it's one of the most hated clubs on this forum too.Having said that I think every supporter thinks their club is victimised in one way or another. gary gordon 1,777
We are easily the most hated team in the world. Not just Europe. We've have Roman, Jose, "Fat Frank", John Terry, "Cashly Cole" and Didier Drogba at the head of our succes for 10 years. Even though DD cleaned up his act, he was despised by everybody.I've loved wearing my Chelsea shirts everywhere. It's like i love pissing people off
