Ze Mario 638
why oh why didn't Jose ask for strikers and midfielders who can actually play football back in the summer? ... our season would've been so different right now he already did
coolhead23 1,147
Because we stopped a VERY good attacking side from scoring on their on patch? By playing defensive football ... what is new! We know how to do that! (we are the best in that) ...
cosmicway 1,333
It's not logical to exhibit pessimism but the injury list is worrying. The return match will not be like the one against PSG. More like the CFC - Barcelona 1-0 of 2012 and should be approached that way, imo. Barcelona of 2012 were of course much better than Atletico today. LAB 1,030
Seems like tactics are very hard to keep secret nowadays:Dermot Corrigan @dermotmcorrigan Simeone: "We knew how they would play, we have good spies. We wanted to break their defensive play, but we couldnt." Seems like a failed attempt to copy Mou's mnd games to me.
Special Juan 28,141
calm the fuck down. I know that was his game plan, but the question is does the result suit us? we all know how we've been performing against teams defending deep this season... I know even crazier shit has happened in football and I'm not giving up hope yet but I'm tiered of watching the team doing it the hard way, I'm tiered of nervy last minutes...YOU ARE HOPING FOR A MIRACLE, I'M HOPING FOR ONE TOO... WE ALL ARE.. but aint you tiered of it?It's 0-0 with a home leg at home to come. You say your tired of the team doing it the hard way......So did you expect us to go to Madrid and come away with a convincing against one of the best sides in Europe? Then your mad and have seriously underestimated Atletico Madrid and what they are capable of.Then you speak of 'Miracles' sounds like you think we are 4-0 down, it's 0-0, and whilst there is a lot of football to be played we can win this no bother at all. NishC300 1,865
Our set pieces were awful tonight but of late, our free kicks have been especially poor. Donno why we let Luiz shoot on the two occasions that we had free-kicks in decent positions. I mean its been a year since the lad has scored a free kick. I was hoping for Lampard to take the one late on and hopefully go for a low shot that would at least force a save from Thibaut and potentially a rebound for guys in and around the 6 yard box. But yeah.... set pieces were very poor tonight. And free kicks this season have been very meh...Juan and KDB were excellent at them. Oscar is hitting some good FKs these days, but he didn't play. Yea I wanted Lamps to take it too. Taken big FKs before in his career. I reckon we should try Matic as a Left-footed FK taker cos of his shot power. Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Everyone has being saying good result, we defended well, etc,etc... But how is 0-0 a good result going in a home leg? They can defend and can defend really well (that we all know), all they need is a goal and we need to score 2 to win! Plus we never attacked so most of the time we soaked the pressure and we are good at that .... It is difficult to make us specially when we stay deep.Anyways, i hope we win at the Bridge ... For me the performance was just another day in the office where we maintain our standards in the back.. we were without our best players in attack and lost our keeper and captain. I guarantee you the gameplan was to soak up the pressure in the first half and make a couple subs to knick it in the last 25mins. Had we not been forced to make subs I bet Schurrle, Ba and possibly Oscar would've come on to look for a goal.We didn't play our strongest XI and we went into a tough environment and kept the tie alive with it going back to the bridge! We can and will win there. This was another Jose Masterclass don't know what you're whining about.
CHOULO19 24,332
I don't know how anyone managed to come up with 11 minutes of highlights from that match, but here it is if anyone is interested:http://vimeo.com/92680609
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
that wont be much of a difference, we all know SB aint that loud ... btw, where did the flags go? ... I'm so disappointed in Jose right now. how in hell does a team with so much attacking talent play that way? and I can't believe people are proud of the performanceI will bet my house you've never been to the bridge. On a big occasion like the Semis of the Champs league it will be ROCKING. Also, don't you think the reason we played that way had a lot to do with the forced subs? Its like you guys paint by numbers. BleedsBlue 1,549
We played for a clean sheet and we got it that too without our number 1 keeper. At Stamford Bridge,we will play for a victory and we will achieve that.

Stef 15
Only two reflections on this gameNumber 1: Gary Cahill is close to becoming one of the best defenders in Europe!!!!Number 2: Yes Mark Schwarzer had some great moments but occasionally his positioning wasn't that great!!! Special Juan 28,141
Number 2: Yes Mark Schwarzer had some great moments but occasionally his positioning wasn't that great!!!That's just been over picky. He commanded his area brilliantly and made a tremendous save from a FK. What a stage to come in on, the SF 1st leg of a CL cup tie and produce a rock solid performance. But given u'r maturity level (and since I belive in letting people have their fix) I'll give this one to you, YOU ARE BETTER AT YOUR OWN LAGUAGE THAN ME 2) I didn't say chelsea should be as good as RM/BM right now, but, even at this level, we shouldn't be scared in to parking the bus against Atletico 3) The injury of JT and Peter had no impact in the game plan, defending was the game before and after the substitutions ... any how, ..chill man, take it easy
