Rather the club shell out 30m for Stones than 40m+ for this guy.

why? Vidal only cost 37 m Euros, is one of the best midfielders in the world, while Stones only costs that much because he is homegrown. Vidal would clearly be an upgrade to what we have at the moment, especially we could turn in to a 4-3-3 with him. Matic-Vidal-Cesc would be incredible.

That would take a change in system, specifically in our pressing, and possibly even change of personal. That is something we have absolutely no need to goo into right after we just won the league and cup double.

Also, if there is one thing we've learned, or at least should have, from this past season is that Fabregas at number 10 sucks...HARD! Instead of making us more attacking he actually makes us more defensive because he simply doesn't have the pace to help the striker press the back four and hence the whole block is forced deeper as a result. Even offensively, he is a lot more consistent in his delivery from a deeper role than around the box unless the opposition have 10 men in the box.

just cos there will be a change in the system and a "breaking in" period, does not mean we should let go of a world class and possibly world dominating midfield.

the sheer class, balnce and brilliance of those 3 in the mid would even make our breaking in period look like a honeymoon period.as for pressing, barca play a 4-3-3 and have the best pressing in the world. we won the PL and cup double but that does not mean the system is perfect and should not be tampered with. infact, we played with one system for the first 5 months and another for the last 4 months last season.

what would have been even better is the fact that our other 2 CMs are far better players in a 4-3-3 than in a double pivot. especially rambo.

also, vidal play in the hole behind the strikers. maybe him as a no.10 and cesc as DLP.

You could always make Vidal play the cam role and keep cesc and matic behind him.

VIdal could lead the press with costa just as well, if not better than Oscar (pending on his injury status).

A healthy vidal would fit in any team realistically.

Like my boy Choo choo said, that would require us to almost revamp the entire system. We don't need him and he's not disciplined. Stones is the better buy, already a good player with room to grow and a long term replacement

24.5m for him is the bargain of the decade. Why did Juve sell him so cheap? I have heard from a tifosi that Juve think there is an issue with his knee and that if his antics will get the better of him at Bayern too. Also he badly wanted to go there. But I am not so sure. Bayern have the BuLI in the bag already so they can keep Vidal fresh for the CL. Also nightlife in Munich is so boring, he might discipline himself.

Cause the thing Bayern needed most was a midfielder.

Bayern need a mf as much as we do....

Thiago, Alonso, alaba, lahm, kimmich, guadino, hoiberg, javi martinez...

I was being sarcastic lol.

They actually did need a midfielder though. Especially someone like Vidal as they've often been far too passive in midfield, lacking forward runs and aggression in midfield. Goals from midfield as well, which Vidal provides.

Thiago and Martinez have constantly been dealing with injuries. You can't go into a season trusting they'll be fit for a full season. Lahm is not a natural midfielder and he's so much better at RB. Alaba is unproven in midfield.

Leaves you with Xabi and Hoijberg to count on (and youth). Alonso is old and needs plenty of support to fully function, and Hojbjerg is 19 and unproven at Bayern. That's not a recipe for succes. Xabi, Vidal, Hojbjerg, Thiago and Martinez for a 3-man midfield and Lahm and Alaba as makeshift options makes sense. Good competition and they'll never all be fit at the same time for prolonged periods anyway.

because he has a dodgy knee thats probably why he went for so cheap
