Amblève. 4,995
Real would be a nightmare with their pace, power and huge goal-scoring threat. I'd much rather face Barca or Bayern. The space they give away behind the last line of defence is ideal for Chelsea.Disagree with the first part of your post. Cesar in his current form would be great matchup against Ronaldo, same with Ivanovic and Bale (we've seen enough of those two duelling in the PL, haven't we?). Also, as Dortmund showed twice Real have huge problems with teams that sit deep and prefer to counter which is exactly at what we excel against big teams. Barbara 15,149
To be fair, Cech did everything possible to distract him. Still I thanked all saints I know for that miss.I think we're even - we hit woodwork 2 times, they missed 2 clear-cat chances. And I'm still gutted that Dortmund couldn't manage a 3rd, btw.you forgot that crazy save from their keeper in Lamps free-kick., 3x2 for us darrus and Mohammed Seif

Popular Post! didierforever 7,349 Posted April 8, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 8, 2014 YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking come on.... fucking get in!!!!!!!!!!!!yes yes yes yes yes yes.... oops we did it AGAIN.................my voice is totally gone after all the shouting, my hands are sore after all the clapping. thought the napoli/barca/bayern experience could never be topped but i was so wrong. and i could not be happier.now first things first, fuck eligius, fuck duoblue11cl and fuck all the naysayers and gloryhunters who cant support the team in a bad moment. fuck u!!! now the performance was spirited. it was not a brilliant performance where we controlled everything, but it simply was a spirited performance full of character. we wanted to win more than PSG. it was as simple as that. we started slow, with PSG too being cautious and simply playing on moura/lavezzi's individual runs. hazard was always double marked. if that was not enough, jallet's only job seemed to be sticking very very close to hazard. but hazard's injury turned the match around. schurrle was a delight to watch (take that henrique). he has shown again and again that bigger the moment, the better he plays. the game was very much in the balance and we needed a goal before half time to get give us something to play for. the timing of schurrle's goal was just brilliant. the 2nd half, was all us. with ba and torres coming on, we thru the kitchen sink at them. BA again showed that he can be a very very useful player to the role he has been given this season. still 7 more matches to go and i would rather see BA than torres in them.cech - a very good performance. dealt with the set pieces perfectly. seemed to be in control and it seeped into the defence. his shot stopping was a delight to watch today too. azpi - good game. a lot of interceptions and dint let moura have a lot of say in the game. JT - CLL. that describes him. injures himself and what happens 5 seconds later, he bloody slides in for a block. IRREPLACABLE. brilliant display.GC - good performance. but was very cautious against cavani. let him win a few air balls without challenging him, should have scored a goal and the other end. but nonetheless, a good solid display. needs to be more assertive against good strikers though.iva - that interception in the last minutes. fucking hell. just brilliant. even the header where he dint let the ball bounce for cavani. defensively he is a WALL. one of his best performances this season.lamps - very disappointing. a lot of poor passes, people running past him, and what the hell is wrong with his delivery. corners hitting the first man over and over again. only player who simply dint seem in sync with the team. LUIZ - MOTM. what a performance. amazing, fabulous, fantastic. i seriously am at a loss of words for the performance he put in today. 2nd half specially after the lamps sub, controlled the whole mid. full on running, tackling, interceptions. his ball winning is amazing as we all know and today he simply was on a different level altogether. i am not the staunchest supporters of DL, but he DOES up his game for every fucking big match. and him as a DM is simply fantastic. oscar - good performance. in the first 30 mins, he seemed to be the man who would do something for us. ran past a few players but that final ball was missing. good energy and workrate.willian - pretty much the same as oscar. drove us forward, specially in the 2nd half. but that final ball, that moment of magic is missing from his game or rather too few.hazard - i hope the injury is nothing serious. would be a massive blow specially in the CL as we dont have any cover whatsoever. subs- schurrle- brilliant performance. very well taken goal. ran past players and most importantly, tried to run behind the defence. his positioning and reading off the game is fabulous as shown by that ba head down. he will be very crucial if hazard is unavailable.ba - what a substitution by mou. probably forced but i would have killed myself if he had put torres on. changes the game massively. gave us a perfect outlet by letting defenders play the long ball. almost had an instant impact when schurrle ran onto his head down. what a well taken goal. MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE. he should be ahead of torres in the list. gives us way more of an option up ahead and simply put, is a goal scorer.we deserved the win tonight. the players gave it there ALL and should have been proud of themselves if the result had gone either way. And it's not like Dortmund didn't create lots of chances themselves, they just missed most of them so it was about even when it comes to goal scoring opportunities.Sure but some matchups seem to be better set up for a Mourinho team than others IMO. Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted April 8, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 8, 2014 I'm so fucking happy!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll rewatch it tomorrow and will try to talk about tactics, I was having a tumblr overdose of memes and gifs and stuff, it's exhilarating. How many times have we lacked heart and clutch recently? I get that some of our players are young, others while a bit older, are inexperienced, and that's why I think the right thing to do was wait for time to make its work. I'm positive they matured a couple of years beyond their ages tonight. Those things you carve, you don't just get them when you want (let alone buy), but they were giants there. Never-give up attitude through 90 minutes, playing with their hearts, drawing their blood. I'm so proud of them.I'm POSITIVE Azpilicueta, Oscar, Willian and Schurrle (especially Azpili and André) will NEVER be the same after this. Remember us against Juve and Shakhtar last year? That's what we missed to win those matches. I just wish Hazard had played longer, but he'll have his chance of overcoming adversity and coming on top of it and grow some too. Those matches are invaluable and what those players did today is something that changes you. That's why older players handle it, because they've been there and done that. It was work as usual for Cech, Terry, Lamps, Iva, Eto'o and even Luiz.Mourinho called Luiz a monster, saying the midfielders were animals and the defense gave everything (all of which is true and accurate imo). David showed his love and respect for us, he put his heart in his performance and write my words, he bought his permanence in the club and when a player gives what he did today, you just keep him.Schurrle was simply unbelievable. This guy has never been in a remotely similar situation like this before and he showed his character and stepped up and did everything. His woodwork was so unlucky and his confidence will skyrocket I'm absolutely sure.Even Ba had his moment. I have a lot of problems with Ba and I think his attitude is one of his problems, but he proved his showed his true colors there, even if he's one of the most clumsy players I've seen (maybe it's because he's too big for a footballer, lol).Oscar and Willian were restless and they actually had a very good match in addition. Oscar was actually very good in the first half and he was also unlucky in that amazing free kick. He also learned a lot tonight I'm positive. While those guys learned last year in the Europa League final, this is another level, the opponent is another level, it's played at our stadium, it's an unique experience (not so much for us, Chelsea ) and I'm happier about the growth we'll see in this team rather than the SF qualification. Of course I'm happy for qualifying and I'll tell you what, I fancy us beating anyone (but I'd rather Madrid drew Bayern, so we don't draw Madrid in the SF nor in a potential final as Madrid would NEVER beat Bayern in Germany).Anyway, all those guys were heroes there, we played like Chelsea. That's who we are. We may someday have the fanciest, most fluid and offensive football in the world, I'm positive we'll never lose our heart and clutch in matches like this. That's what makes us us. Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted April 8, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 8, 2014 This result is so, so vital for the future of this young team. What I loved the most about this result is the fact that these guys showed that they can come up with the goods when the going gets tough. This win was all about character building, and these lot learned a lot today. They learned that as a Chelsea FC player, you never give up. That is the most important thing about today's victory. The heart and character the team showed. So proud of these lads. jeronimo, Barbara, kellzfresh and 3 others
