Sounds like an anomaly. Kalou in 10/11 was certainly not as bad as he was in 09/10, his worst season at Chelsea equal only to his truly horrific first season. I expect the current feeling won't last and that once a new thread opens to assess his ability it will once again be TX and a few others against all those striving to "defend" a Chelsea player.

Bertrand should be playing a minimum of ten Premier League games this season, in my opinion. Because not only he is ready, but because this Ashley Cole chap is nothing like the guy who was, in my opinion, our best player between 2008 and 2010.

I defended him out of naivety. I always held a belief I would fully support whoever wore the blue jersey. Now I've revised that notion to whoever wears the blue jersey and gives their best. I've become impatient with Kalou, five seasons without improvement is enough for even me to lose faith in him.

well my way of thinking is i can forgive any lack of ability if they put effort in.

Anyway i can remeber something when Kalou first joined don't know how much truth there is in it but i might aswell mention it now while i remember, apparently if Crespo left sooner than he did Kalou would have got the number 9 shirt.

not a huge kalou fan but its hard to see the hate the player gets in these forums..especially as we call ourselves supporters of chelsea and its players..

last season when we were in the depths of not gaining points kalou in a lot of those games was a bright spot to the team more than drogba more than lampard and some of the others..scored a few winners near the end of the season to even give us a chance to put pressure man u ...and all of a sudden he is a villian i dont buy it if he played and strung consecutive great performances would everyone switch how they feel about him..

he has serviced the squad and i think we should just leave it at that...

What some fail to realise that we may not have won some off the trophies in recent years if it weren't for Kalou.

Equaliser at home to Spurs which got a replay and saved home elimination, we went on to win the cup.

Goal in the FA Cup 2 years later which prevented us exiting at home to Southend, we went on to win the cup.

The early double against Stoke in the title decider which settled unbearable nerves.

We would not have won 2 FA Cup's if it werent for Kalou goals saving us from elimination and who knows without his early double against Stoke the crowd would have got wrestless, the players would have started to panic and Stoke might have actually held us then bang, title gone.

He should never be a starter but is a great impact sub as far im concerned, plus he always puts the effort in and runs his socks off, i can forgive any flaw in ability if they play their heart out.
