Omeruo joins Middlesbrough on loan

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has joined Championship club Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season.

The Nigeria international, who was farmed out to Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag last term, joined the Blues in January 2012 from Standard Liege.

The 20-year-old hopes to secure regular game-time at the Riverside Stadium to boost his chances of representing his country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
