Jase 43,479
So we all shall pray for him to get a yellow card?Maybe? Sit out of the Sunderland game so that he can play against Stoke next weekend at the Britannia. Wouldn't want Ivanovic to pick up that yellow card against Sunderland and missed out on Stoke. Need all the physicality and height there.

DDA 9,941
Am I the only one more worried than happy that Essien is being tested in this game in particular? I've been saying he should be playing a much bigger role, but a start against a team that press like Southampton when he hasn't really played yet this season is very risky, IMO. Hope he proves that Jose is right and he is ready. No you are not but I would have to disagree.. Like I said in a thread previously, I believe our best game this season was against Arsenal in the League cup which featured Essien in the pivot. He brought stability and a calm head with his determined runs and stead passing. He deserved a start the very next game for that performance in my opinion. He gave us something we have been lacking in games, positional awareness gained through experience.

Rmpr 8,977
Decent. Was hoping for Schürrle instead of Oscar who has looked tired lately but other than that I'm mostly happy with the lineup. Maybe I would've benched Iva and Ramires too after their performances against Basel but I trust Jose to have made absolutely certain that slacking off like that isn't acceptable and hopefully they'll bounce back now. 100% agree!I was hoping for Schurrle to start because he not only was playing very well, but he also provides the kind of width that none of Mazacar can...However, I do trust Jose! Barbara 15,149
I hate that lineup with a passion, especially against such a compact, solid side as Southampton this season. That said, I hope it works out, I hope we play some nice football and get three points - even if I feel few combinations of our available players could be worse than that. That's all I'll say in this thread.
