Willian's heat map vs Man City.

I said a few times I would have liked to have kept Willian at least another year and wouldn't have had a problem giving him a 2 year deal to retain him.

But you can't blame him for leaving for one last big contract. I think Arsenal reportedly offering £220k per week and 3 years is madness personally.

They may get a good year out of him next season and he could be a good rotational player perhaps thereafter but as his physical abilities start to decline I think they'll be left to regret what they've done over the last 12-18 months of that deal.

He's been a good servant though. Was always in Hazard's shadow here and I was always personally a bigger fan of Pedro who was the more clinical player of the two but he's been a good player and at times, stepped up this season when we needed him to be the experience in our attack.

As usual with the recent spate of Chelsea to Arsenal signings, we've had his best years and Arsenal will get the twilight of his career at the top. Once again I think it shows where both clubs are in the food chain at present.

£220K PW???!!!

wtf

that is crazy

that is almost £35m for the duration

On a side note too, I think if we sign Havertz that will be it for our attack going into next season as the likes of Werner, Havertz, Mount are all versatile and can all play wide if needed.

It does mean that it presents a huge opportunity for Hudson Odoi. Pulisic will need to be rotated at times because he is susceptible to injury and the likes of Ziyech and Werner may need time to adapt to the league.

CHO needs to grow up and realise his potential. There should be a chance next season for him to become an important player and it's up to him to take that.

That's the figure that has been doing the rounds the last couple of days.

Arsenal have no salary discipline

no wonder they never have the big transfer dosh to toss out (other than the foolish £72m on Pepe)

The one thing that they are getting which they dont have much is an injury free player ... Thats one of the things which goes in his favor ... very few injuries specially on someone who relies on pace.

Now it is upto Arsenal if they break him or if he survives them.

Will be solid but unspectacular for them next season. Just like he was here. He's not a De Buryne or Salah who we will watch for a rival every weekend and curse that we let him go. He'll play a blinder every once in a while and be average most of the time.

For sure he will have a great game or two but the previous 8 horrible games will need to be talked about too. Us, Chelsea fans, have been there.

that's Arse fans for you, and usually Robbie is the most sensible of that lot. DT, Moh, Ty, Troopz are all bellends

my initial hot take was a bit harsh

he did not go as batshit as I thought he was

and I am NOT happy about this, especially if we sign no wingers and Havertz falls through

I hate when a decent player (unlike Luiz) goes to a direct rival straight from us

if they had signed a younger Willian i would be fucking pissed but at 32 its the right time to leave, he's not going to get any better and for the salary he is getting now its not worth keeping him, especially for 3 more years. We need to move on, and Willian was too hot and cold for us.

They said the same with Cech, Luiz and now Willian. As much as I like Robbie, he's talking BS.

Let them have their joy for now, because in a few months time we will be enjoying their tears.

Willian is shite, just because he's a red now doesn't change that. We are happy he's gone and off our wage bill.

Use Willian's wages to get somebody in better while Arsenal remains mediocre.
