The Skipper 20,609
Would like to see him work on his final ball and consistency in finishing... Apart from that he has shown he has the tools to be a very important member of the team.
Special Juan 28,141
Would like to see him work on his final ball and consistency in finishing...Yes. A couple of times during the season on the counter attack he has chosen the wrong pass, it's that for me that lets him down. kellzfresh and The Skipper
lionsden 4,689
He got into the world cup squad ahead of Coutinho, Lucas, Kaka and Robinho. If that doesn't mean at least a ''good'' season then our expectations are unreachable.Countinho is the only player out of the list that does deserve to go to the world cup. He's had a great season and imo he's the best and most natural playmaker brazil currently has to offer. Also the fact that Ramires,Oscar and Paulinho in particular made the list tells me this season's form wasn't taken into consideration whatsoever and the list has been predetermined a long time ago. The exclusion of atletico pair felipe luis and Miranda is also quite farcical.Does scolari ever monitor Brazilian players outside of the Olympic and confed cup squad at all?.Happy for Willian however and well deserved. laura90

Drogzola 283
When I watch him play Stoned then I really see what this guy is all about, his dribbling is amazing and his work rate is awesome. He seems to be lost once he gets past the player because the runs in front of him aren't there. I can only see him getting better and better. iseah100
Amblève. 4,995
First touch, passing, shooting, decision making and intelligence (if that counts as an aspect of talent)The wording was "far". Willian doesn't excel in any of these aspects far better than Moses, especially his decision making and intelligence are as bad/good as Moses's. Maybe they have about the same pace - Will may have more even - but everything else, yes, he's far better than Moses, not because Willian is that great, but simply because Moses is that bad. zolayes 14,489
Willian is by far our fastest in instigating a counter from defence ,,,only Ramires is even close in that respect .
Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted May 9, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted May 9, 2014 Using his goal/assist record for me is far to easy a way to look at thing's and overlooks what he actually brings to the table. Now im not saying he will reach that level but Bergkamp is imo the most naturally gifted player in PL history, yet look at his stats and you will see a striker who during his time in England netted once every 3 and a half games. The balance Willian offers is amazing, it seems a cool trait these days to mock wingers doing the dirty work but ask yourself this? if we give Willian offensive freedom, who the hell protects our full back next time we play Everton and 2 off Piennar, Oviedo and Baines are bombing forward at will?I see some think 'but if we wanted a work horse winger we could have got one for 5m' possibly but i bet that player would have serious technical limit, wouldn't be able to bring the ball out and keep it under pressure like Willian does naturally, and this said player would probably get dispossessed in dodgy positions, which seldom happens to Willian. BlueLion. 21,491
Willian's decision-making is decidedly sub-par however that is something he will improve upon with time and experience. For a new signing in a new league, I think he's done okay. A 7/10 for his debut season for me. bethos1 and Blue Armour

nyikolajevics 2,700
Nice goal tonight, curious if he becomes a starter come WC.I don't think so.. It looks like Scolari doesn't really want to change the Confederation Cup winner team. Fred, Oscar, Hulk and Neymar will be the starting attackers unless anyone get injured. yuvala 2,167
Why? Hulk isn't even that good tbh. Willian is better and deserves to start.1. Personally I cant say that Willian is better for sure.2. Scolari likes to stay true to the players that he chooses, he'll probably use the same starting XI from the Confederation Cup. So Hulk worked well in the confed cup and has been around for a while... therefore chances of Willian displacing him are minimal as Willian is quite new in the group
