  1. 1. Who Is Your Man of the Match?

Our counter attack in this match was superb and often inc the first goal where we scored after quick passing from back to front ,this was difficult last season with the way the waiter set us up and in particular feeding the ball through midfield when Mikel was in there ,this season we have been like lightning on the counter and Jose will look to ply like this. Sideways and backwards balls and several touches do not help us when we are looking to counter .

Can you not make a single post without slandering Mikel?

Just thinking on how we have improved a lot in just a year.

Last year we were raped by the 3'rd best team in La Liga.

This year we held to the last penalty kick against the best team in the world (right now...)

We will get much better in another year and the years after that, I am sure of it.

not to forget, it was 10 against 11.

Yes but can you not understand the point of the post? on us countering as in the first goal v Bayern where we were very quick in moving the ball and caught them, virtually impossible with the unmentionable in the team.

Yes I understand the post, I didn't say I didn't. All I'm saying is you could've made that point without integrating Mikel in it.

There is something I still don't like.

I don't like Mourinho bitch ass moaning attitude after games.

Fuck it we lose, stop being such a sore loser and take the loss!

Ramires red card was definitely spot on and Bayern made their own luck by continuing to attack till the last minute.

They won and are the better team.

Better luck next time.

Yeah the after comments are kind of irritating now but I guess we'll just have to deal with it but its also great to know that we have a coach that will always love the club, players and fans NO MATTER WHAT!So I guess we shouldn't complain too much because its tough to find a manager who deeply cares so much.

RDM cared so much, and he did not go bitch and moan after every match like SAF or Mourinho do.

It just cringe worthy to hear that, when you know he is clearly wrong!

True but Jose has always been like this.Even at Inter and Madrid,he always chose to defend his team first and did whatever he could to minimize any media attack on players.A trait which may irritating at times but one to be always proud of.

I guess you are right.

I don't like it but I guess the best thing for me is not to listen to any shit he has to say and just watch the match from now on!

Actually he always does this for one reason. protect his players. The big media companies focused on that rather than focusing on Ramires's red card or Lukaku's missed penalty. If he had said that we deserved to lose, the media would have butchered both Rami and Lukaku. It's the kind of attitude he has had since he first came in. He takes all the blame, distracts the media from what the players have done wrong. He protects them. Moreover it fires up the players. if you've watched the documentary Blue Revolution, a journalist, whose name I fail to remember now, said how Mourinho used to stick up the front page of sporting newspapers that used to write absolute hate on Mourinho and the club and then Jose would tell the players to go out and prove them wrong. We ended up winning two back to back titles. He does it to bring that sense of family into the squad. The reason why always his players love him.

EDIT: Journalist's name is Henry Winter.

Sounds like a weird type of method.

If it works for him then I guess it's okay.

For me, I always been the type of guy that you do all your talking on the field. It's like boxing, no matter how much shit the other guys talk it won't matter if his opposition is good.

Carlo and RDM, managers that held themselves with utmost respect.

Brian Clough used to do that too at Nottingham. It's a classic tactic used by probably the most successful managers. He usually does the talking both on the field and off it.

Interesting.

Got any links and such to find out more about Brian Clough?

Thanks for that lecture on such methods. B)

Wikipedia should be enough actually. Or you can watch the movie , "The Damned United", it summarizes the important part of his life.

Haha, nah not a lecture. just pointing it out. :)

This match perfectly show the problems that go with Jose's "go one up then close down" philosophy, you bank that the opposition won't score.

That is the unwisest decision. When a team decides to stop attacking and go with all players defending the team will become overwhelmed eventually by the oppositions attack (they can only be saved by the bell). I have always believed that its is better to create some concern for opponents by attacking. The philosophy of all out defending only works by luck. If we had donated 2 men at least to continue attacking Bayern instead of defending theyw ouldnt have been able to put so much pressure that led to a last minute Equalizer. We could have had 2 attakers and 1 Mikel spraying long passes to the 2 attackers.

A typical example of this continuous attack was on display by Liverpool against MUFC at there last meeting in Anfield Liverpool was leading 1-0 but theys till kept on Harrasing MUFC with attacking flare forcing the MUFC team to station some players back in the defence as opposed to having all the players attack the liverpool goal end had Liverpool played the all-out defensive game after leading 1-0.

You guys can remmeber that even the Bayern golie was in Chelsea half. Mourinho (Special 1 or Happy 1), missed the winning key this time hope never plays that all out defensive again even with a 3-goal cushion its still a risky system to adopt.
