Peppen 934
3 points in the bag, let's move on!This is the difference between last year, and now. If we played bad last season, we would lose or draw. If we'd mess up just the slightest bit, we'd lose points. Now we've got a competent manager, so I'd take this 'playing inadequately but still getting the 3 points" any day, compared to losing a 2-0 lead to Reading or Southampton. Stats 7,145
For the record Van Ginkel attempted 5 passes and was 80% on his deliveries.... he had one he couldn't bring down and turned it over. Lets not start jumping to conclusions on a player who had 9mins of work.Well, Lampard may have been poor but you have stated he "offered nothing". He made a great delivery for the second goal. I am not looking at his MVG completion level. I watched him play and IMO he looked very nervous. Like I said he is young and it is hard to make a step up but there was two times he had the ball and just cleared it to the opposition. If he had a bit more confidence and composure you wold have picked out a pass to a team mate. Personally I was surprised with that change near the end anyway. I think he should have brought Mikel on simply because he would of provide a lot more protection, kept possession but it seems part of the reason Mourinho brought him on is to give him game time like he promised him. I found it an odd sub for Mourinho to make. A lot of people may not agree but that is my honest opinion.Personally, I thought MVG would have started 1 of the 2 games however he did not. I have a feeling that Lampard might be dropped for United but I would expect to see Mikel or Essien come in his place, not MVG because I think Mourinho will want to control the midfield with power. samzilla 517
Benteke's goal reminded me a lot of Carroll's goal against us in the 2012 FA Cup final.
Stingray 9,441
Fully agree regarding Lukaku, he is a good player with a great future but just simply isn't ready to lead the line at a club with design's on winning the title and judging by the fact were after a new forward, Jose seems to agree.José is bringing him slowly, as he should. I see the search for a striker more as a result of the failing of Ba and Torrid.
Stingray 9,441
We already got all the good Belgians, and a better striker in Lukaku.Nah, there is still Witsel mate! We could use that guy in our pivot .... Rami and Witsel.
bushman 2,043
Well boys.Even though, Chelsea got helped by the ref last night & we gonna read about it for weeks now, I´d say fuck them.To me, 3 points are in the bag, these type of games win titles at the end & the media hates Chelsea. So, I say, admit it, there is no need to dwell on it, like some of these Belgium´s windmill operators & move on.Sometimes, the team needs these breaks & I am happy Chelsea got two last night. nachikethas 1,154
if it was avb,rdm or benitez we would have lose it 2-1 probably. like few others mentioned winning these kind of matches are the key to the title.well ba failed as a striker last night but torres would have failed as i dont know what ever that is. termninja 5,290
Jose will use a win like this to start building the siege mentality that everyone is against us and that people don't wanna see us as Champions. It's a win, it's 3 points and I'm happy about it. Too many times last season we dropped points in similar games to these...And whoa, Benteke is a bloody beast Ba was really bad, while I have no other mentions for other players except praises for Ramires, Hazard, Oscar and Ivanovic for their hard work. The feeling of seeing Jose on our touchline talking and smiling at the opposition manager is very hard to describe I'm just so happy to see him
Stingray 9,441
So, I say, admit it, there is no need to dwell on it, like some of these Belgium´s windmill operators & move on.Since I am not that smart, I had to look it up. According to the urban dictionary: a windmill is swinging your penis around in a circular motion to appease the ladies. You can call us 'Belgiums' windmill operator ANYTIME ! I had in mind, those that oil the wheels though.I do not mean to be derogatory, but some of your countrymen are very peculiar supporters to dwell on Iva´s elbow, JT´s handball too much, I feel. Special Juan 28,141
Thought it was a very average performance but credit has to go to Villa as they came here and did a very good job getting in amongst us and sticking to a clear plan. A win is a win but we must be 100% better than this v United, a United who regardless of Moyes are capable of really getting at us especially with RvP leading the line.Ba is a liability, caught offside a stupid amount of times and him and Torres are like two people you just don't want to have to rely on, and is exactly why we need a top class forward NOW!! When I posted about BA yesterday, folks were up in arms. I honestly feel, BA is not it. He runs around aimlessly, I feel. When Lukaku came on, yesterday or against Hull, the team seems to spruce up, I feel.
