STIPE PERICA SIGNS

Chelsea Football Club has today (Thursday) completed the signing of Stipe Perica.

The 18-year-old striker moves to Stamford Bridge from NK Zadar in the Croatian top flight.

Perica [pictured centre] made his debut for Zadar in September 2012, and since then has gone on to make 23 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

He was part of the Croatia side eliminated at the knockout stages of the recent Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, where he made three appearances and scored one goal.

Kinda reminds me of Dzeko. He's a perfect option for our youth if we're slotting him in those ranks as opposed to loaning him out. Feruz as much as I like him just doesn't offer too much aside from goal poaching. While this guy seems to poach around the penalty area too, he's a lot more well-rounded, obviously thanks to his physique.

These type of signings never seem to work out. I don't understand why these kids come to a club like Chelsea that young. Unless you're a Ronaldo or Messi then you're going to have to learn your trade at a smaller club like Eto'o did and many others.

Who? We've signed Izzy and Stipe. They will both play together for our under 12's or whatever then go to league 2 just to try n climb back up again and fail like Danny Cadamarteri and end up at Dundee.

Well, we hope not.

Good luck whenever you play.

We need a big man up front for the youth so the signing makes sense. Feruz can't always do it on his own. There were plenty of games where we needed a focal point in attack and Feruz/Kiwomya couldn't provide that. Our attacking options look miles better now with Izzy Brown, Feruz and Perica as options now.

What? You dont understand why a young professional would accept the big opportunity of joining a top club like Chelsea?

Maybe because they want to put their development in hands of a world class club with world class staff and facilities. Not only that, just having "Chelsea" on your CV gets you noticed even if you're a garbage player.

Well, he was a bit of an arse during the last few weeks and months at Zadar, his former club. Said stuff like, he would definitely not play for Zadar anymore and his options for the upcoming season are either Dinamo Zagreb or some foreign club. Hope the dude's just ambitious rather than an ego-guy.
