Ankit 3,176
Chelsea have forged a new partnership with Aldershot Town, saving the club and bringing them out of administration. "An unlikely third party [Chelsea] have stepped forward to play a pivotal role in giving the cash-stricken club a new lease of life.""They have also persuaded their kit suppliers, Adidas, to provide the club with a brand new home and away kit completely free of charge."One of the new board’s first appointments is expected to be the return of ex-Aldershot and Chelsea favourite Darren Barnard as the new Head of Academy.http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/sport/aldershottownfc/s/2136111_aldershot_town_forges_new_deal_with_chelsea_fcWonder if this will get front page coverage like most things CFC do. Bir_CFC 3,455
Their stadium is close to Cobham and will be used for our youth reserve cup games. Good deal for both sides.

Magic Lamps 11,692
Their stadium is close to Cobham and will be used for our youth reserve cup games. Good deal for both sides.Well, there are enough pitches at our HQ in Cobham and only a bunch of people go to the pitch to actually watch regular season youth and reserve games. There surely must be more to it, are we really so selfless to rescue a club we are not attached to in any way except the vicinity?

We played at various other stadiums over the past few years with our youth team.

The money they'll get from the spectators of the youth games can save them, but makes no impact on our budget.
BleedsBlue 1,549
I think we need to help out Doncaster too. They're signing 'singers' now instead of footballers.

There surely must be more to it, are we really so selfless to rescue a club we are not attached to in any way except the vicinity?Well there's now the U21 FA cup and the UEFA youth champions league added to the U18 youth cup, so a lot of competitions. While we have pitches at Cobham, Aldershot will allow us to play in a 7000 capacity stadium. So hopefully for those bigger games, the youngsters will have a decent enough crowd to play for. MHL 47 378
Why not? The money they'll get from the spectators of the youth games can save them, but makes no impact on our budget. We played our reserve games there during 2004-2006, back then STH's got in for free. It's only a 20 minute drive for me and I used to regularly go and watch the ressies. There'd regularly be 1000 or so there and for the Arsenal and Spurs games 3 or 4 thousand at £5 per head. Big money for them, back then we let Aldershot keep all the gate money.Watched Mascerano and Tevez there playing for W/ham and sat two rows in front of Jose at another. Great place for autographs and photo's with players as well.Really pleased we helped them, they were/are in big financial difficulty. I know the former Club President and the year they were in the play-offs there was a big rumour they couldn't afford the additional costs of going up and stopped their two top scores playing in those games.
