Nike would be prepared to pay that but, intriguingly, are close to agreeing a shirt deal with Spurs from the start of the 2017-18 season when they could be sharing Wembley as a home ground with Chelsea. The other possibilities are Japanese firm Uniqlo, to complement the £40m-a-year shirt sponsorship with Yokohama, or Li Ning from football boom country China.
Term-X 7,891
^ The news Tottenham might be getting Nike is both sign of the times and depressing as fuck. Them switching from under Armour from Nike should tell us enough about our status. There is no higher prestige than being Nike or Adidas in european football and it will forever be like that. Term-X 7,891
You are a small club who aims only to merely 'challenge' the top sides if you don't have a swoosh tick on your shirt or 3 stripes on your sleeves.

Its not all black and white. Sure prestige plays big part, but if we win CL with lets say UA and dominate football like Barca, you think we will be any less respected because we would wear UA? Its the results that will make us popular or not, its the results that will make us ELITE not fucking kit supplier. In ten years from now UA could be on par with adidas and nike and if we are the ones that will truly break through market for UA in european football, so be it. It could lead to great opportunity.

In a business sense you are very naive. Marketing/branding is everything, it's what sells, image is paramount. 10 years?, more like 100 years. Nike & Adidas defined cultures, they own european football.

American sports were dominated by nike and adidas, but UA is getting bigger role with each year there. Same can happen in europe. Dont forget how Nike became big. I remember how hollywood advertised nike products in all their movies, something that is happening with UA these past few years. How nba and american athletes signed contracts with nike. Today some biggest stars, like Curry are all contracted to UA as someone mentioned above. I remember when nike became super popular after Ronaldo9 and brasil wore their stuff in world cup. Money plays huge role and trust me, UA will be able to attract more and more famous stars and teams, gaining popularity. Times change. Now dont get me wrong, I would take Nike like I said in a heartbeat, because I dont like UA or new balance kits, but never underestimate the growth of company like UA.
different level 1,029
The sponsorship money is all that matters. People who claim the top clubs should only have either Adidas or Nike as their kit supplier are beyond delusional.

Chelsea4 1,521
Chelsea parted company with adidas after becoming fed up with United receiving most attention & two-and-a-half times as much money. [Mail] Chelsea were increasingly annoyed by the way adidas have been concentrating on United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus. [Mail] The Chelsea shirt deal was worth £30m a year, compared to United’s £75m contract. The Londoners will want at least £50m a year. It wasn't until recently that they gained the prestige they have today. That was due to sponsorships of big players, big clubs, and the money to afford to be able to have revolutionary products. UA has been doing this in the United States and potentially has the money to attempt this worldwide. You know those compression shirts that players are all of a sudden wearing under their kits? UA made that popular. It takes time for a brand to establish themselves, but if there's one brand that has a great chance at breaking this Nike/Adidas thing, it's UA. I don't like their kits and hope we get Nike, but to assume that us signing with UA has the same impact as us signing with a company like Errea is completely false and completely stupid. UA have the money and they have the potential to break into the market.

United lacks a star name, they are not even playing in UCL final stages. You are underestimating the size of Chelsea ("we") as a football brand.
