We seemed shackled every game, we never seem willing to attack and get at teams, all this talent and yet negativity prevails.

As soon as the penalty was missed I knew we would lose.

I don't blame Rafa I blame lack of cutting edge and fight.

The team and the 'organisation' were set-up as if we were playing Barcelona with our squad from last year. Somebody really needs to go ASAP.

We are now in a situation were a TOP 4 finish is less likely than ever. We'd do better even without a manager than with the current one.

The best team definitely won and they completely deserved it.

The way Yaya went past all our players in the box and had enough time to curl it on. Pure class. Yaya, Silva and Zabaleta were a joy to watch.

Ba was too isolated, Mata was invisible, Luiz with some signature mistakes, cahil was good but the way Aguero cruised past the back was worrying.

Ps: the subs were disgraceful.

Well it was over the moment Hazard was taken off instead of Ramires. Why oh why was Hazard taken off?

Ramires has been utter shit today, everything he done was poor. Top 4 is looking really tough at the moment.

There is one positive though, Benitez will not be here next season :)

Let's face it, nobody expected us to win at the Etihad, but it's the performance that is heartbreaking, it's the awful performance that makes our blood boil. Whenever we're losing it looks like we just sit back and accept defeat, very painful to watch. And not just when we're losing.

When was the last time this team showed some passion on the pitch anyway? Has it ever happened under Rafa? 18th of April and 24th of April 2012 - that was passion. 19th of May 2012 - that was passion. This is a fucking joke.

The funny thing about the subs was that lampard and hazard were rested for this game on thursday yet they were taken off early while the tired and ineffective mata played the whole 90 minutes.

He's such a fucking joke, i'd hope for his sake he's trying to fuck us up, otherwise he's just pathetic

Unlucky with the pen, but best team today won clearly..

Still the right subs could give us something to hope for, but Rafa and good decisions doesn't work together..

Cahill motm, without him it would be more then 2..

Shocking performances by Ramires and Luiz...Cahill MOTM. This game would've been completely different if Lampard made that pen

harsh on Luiz and even Ramires considering he's played out of position for most of the match. Luiz did not have a great game, but I'd hardly call it shocking. Aside from a brain dead pass to Mickel, in which Mickel himself should've been more available, he was solid throughout the game though a bit subdued (still struggling with injury?).

Cahill had a good game specially with his blocking. Now, with that out of the way, blocking is NOT the best strategy against quality players as they will put the ball in the back of the net as Toure and Tevez did, even though Cahill was, at both times, blocking in front of them. Iva was the weakest on the back IMO.

Defense line was NOT the problem, aside from set pieces of course -- Rafa has always had problems with them.

We were utterly dominated throughout the match, so Mickel and especially Lampard have to take much of the blame for that. Mickel must be more active in the midfield, closing down players at all times, which he did not do for Toure goal. And Lampard had a shocking performance, which made me ask whether he really deserves a new contract after today's performance. The other players, Mata and Hazard had poor games as well. We were too dominated to even talk about Ba, but he did get us a PK.

We certainly need a real manager, with a long-term strategy, a plan. Football is never kind to short-term solutions.

In games like this quality players are not enough, you need to put team effort, which we didn't have. Call it team experience, it comes with stable squad, stable management and many games together. With all quality that we have, we never feel comfortable as a team in this game. But this is good lesson for youngsters, if we going to find some stability in future.
