Why aren't we linked with this guy? He is perfect for the EPL and he is the perfect midfielder for us to play in the pivot with Luiz.

Not only is he creative but he scores goals he can defend very very well + he is a very hardworking player. He is cheap (around 12m euros) and he has the potential to be world class.

He plays like Lamps. He is 22 and he already is the captain for the dutch national team.

Great potential, I would take him imediately.

Yes indeed, not only does he have great potential but he already is beast. So he is not a player to buy and loan out but he is a player that breaks through in the starting XI immediately the same happened with Hazard.

Top passer, hard worker, tackler and actualy equal in strenght and vision.

Plays for Roma, with proper money definately available even in january.

Would fit in Lamps place brilliantly.

Just a question; why the hell didnt we buy Strootman instead of Van Ginkel if we needed imediate impact in midifeld? And Strootman is just 23 after all...chelsea board is so fucking weird...

The Van Ginkel transfer is the weirdest if you think about it. I would easily choose Strootman or Cabaye instead. *sigh*

You are asking the wrong question. more like "why did we buy Van Ginkel (another box to box sans attacking midfielder) instead of Strootman (a legit central midfielder/regista).

People can wax lyrical about the great things emenalo or whoever is in charge of transfers at the club have done all they want but when you spend over 340 million on transfers over the past 4 seasons and the squad is still very unbalanced and low on overall quality, which has hugely led to regression in performances and result over that period in the league then serious questions need to be asked about the competency of those in charge of transfer dealings.

What is the use of unlimited resources/money if you cannot spend it wisely?

At the time, Van Ginkel was out playing Strootman in the Dutch team. If I remember correctly, almost everyeone here was pleased we got Van Ginkel over Strootman.

Van Ginkel was cheaper/ younger/looked to be potentially better. I suspect he was bought in the hope he'd replace Lampard and not to have an immediate impact, doubt we wanted anyone to replace Ramires/Lampard in midfield straight away. But Strootman is exactly what we need in midfield

Van Ginkel is actually injured till now and still didn't play and prove anything. and you called him the weirdest transfer??? logic please....

I said that because he's younger than everyone else in the first team (except Kalas), and that Strootman is more ready for a tough season in the PL than him.

Here's some logic for your delight:
