Cole also had his worst game in ages and seems to be thinking about croissants already.

Ramires and Lampard were absolutely awful in the midfield; Ramires' distribution was bad and Lampard slow and static, which was to be expected due to age and lack of match fitness. Which brings the question: this wasn't the time for Lampard to regain match fitness.

There is no excuse for Torres this time. Cahil should've scored too in the first half. You can't expect to win finals by missing sitters, because you aren't going to get many of them.

It's great to see who rises to the occasion and who doesnt.

I've said before that Lampard simply doesn't have a place in this team anymore. We were hoping that his leadership might reinvigorate the team but this was one of the most pathetic performances I've seen for a long time.

He's a legend but he just doesn't do enough now and I think we have to look at Luiz playing in there alongside a holding midfielder (probably Mikel) just until the end of the season. Leeds is the perfect place to try it.

Cole has been having more dodgy moments this season, so we have to look at Bertrand too.

Only thing i blame Rafa for is his poor team selection.His selection was aimed at pacifying the fan boiis who cannot digest their food without Lampard and Cole.TBH and i hope the board has the same view and the two mentioned are not offered a new contract.Not because they are no longer useful but because they and british media puts too much pressure on the manager to start them every important match which they do not deserve.

I would have played lampard in that game as well. even though its clear a 4-2-3-1 doesn't exactly suit him. To be honest, We had the chances in the First half and we did not take them.

They decided to start pressing and playing in the second half, and we did not have a plan B.

David Luiz should have played DM like last game, we needed him there.

Ramires on his own cant do the DM job, he is the attacking side of that dual midfield role. Lampard made a few good passes but did not run enough and close people down.

Actually, he was useless. He should never be a first choice player for us anymore.

When it wasnt working, the subs should have come earlier. Benitez was too late with Subs.

We did not deserve to win it, and the players deserve this.

A good kick in the backside and a fall down to earth reminds every player of the effort that is required to win things.

Their talent gets them into Big teams, but winning only comes with 110% effort, which our players often do not make.

Thats the difference between us and Manchester United.

i hope this is a learning experience for our team and it encourages a more passionate style of play in our forthcoming fixtures.
