What i find hilarious is that Torres gets branded a mercanry for leaving a team that cannot get into europe for a team that challenges for honours yet Joe Cole gets widely praised for a wise career move despite ditching the double winners for a team in europa (for more money).

Why i cannot stand Liverpool is their fans cannot bring themself to accept that this is not the 80's and their team are no longer toast of this country, us, United, Arsenal, City and Spurs have overtook them and Villa and Everton aint that far off doing the same and despite them crying out about Dalgish being their saviour they look further away than ever to winning the title. Not only do Liverpool fail to match his ambition's they get rid of the few players they had in Torres ability, Alonso, Mascerano for example and even coming to the end Reina was refusing to rule out leaving aswell, Torres deserves better than that, Liverpool are getting second rate english players while we have spent all summer trying to/have brought to bring in Pastore, Falcao, Lukaku, Aguero, Turan, Sanchez, Mata, Hazard and brought Luiz in the same day as El Nino, the difference in class to who Jenny longball is bringing in is massive.

Liverpool fans can point to the 80's and how they are bigger than us historically, but right now we are a much better propisition than Liverpool and can offer better standard of football and that's what hurt's them and what they are struggling to accept is right now they are the 6th best team in England and judging by their summer signing's they have that mentaility aswell.

LFC fans simply can't fathom that they aren't that special. Yes, they are a big club. Yes, they have a great winning record in the past. Torres will no doubt say he enjoyed most of his time there and appreciates the club. There was obviously a great love affair between him and the fans. Yet he walked. And you know why? LFC aren't that freaking amazing. My god, he left his life club where he was captain and icon because he wanted CL football. Why wouldn't he leave LFC? Oh, because they're so, so special? Ah, no. I think that's what leaves them so 'butt hurt.' Torres treated them as a club of employment and not the club he adores (unlike Atletico). And horror, he disagreed with Dalglish's rebuilding plans and timeline. That's unforgiveable because Daglish is infallible it seems.

In other words, the degree of their anger and bitterness is tied in with their own inflated sense of worth and entitlement.
