Fernando Torres

Inevitable, isn't it? :( The Liverpool fans on Twitter are rather smug, completely forgetting everything he did for them.

He was hardly going to start against Stoke, so maybe missing that match will be a blessing in disguise if AVB wasn't planning on playing Drogba.

Right after Torres came off, Ben Smith from the Times posted on twitter:

@bensmith_Times Fernando Torres substituted after 15 mins of Spain v Italy. Looks increasingly like #LFC sold to #CFC at the right time.

Then he got hammered by CFC fans and responded:

"To clarify earlier tweet, Torres suffered "light concussion" in Spain friendly. Happy to put that right for #CFC fans who abused me. Nice"

One thing to be critical of Torres but the media pandering to LFC and Kenny Dalglish make me think unbiased journalism is a myth.

Add in stupid and classless. So par for course for some of them then. How anyone can find joy in injuries for a player is beyond me.

So Smith jumped to a conclusion and didn't expect any response? Fair enough, maybe not outright abuse but it sounds like he's too embarrassed to admit Torres' concussion made his comment look very stupid and instead wants to point the finger at CFC fans.

I hope that he will start...this seems nothing serious...he even watched the game after...so my support for Torres to recover and start against Stoke ...

Concussions, even if you check out fine, may require inaction because the risk of getting another concussion and the long term effects. And since there's heading and flying elbows, football on Sunday would be a risk.

I don't want to play to a stereotype, but I'm surprised they can read. One said "I'm glad he's not our problem anymore" and went onto praise Carroll and Suarez as their new saviours.
