lionsden 4,689
shit playerWhat was more frustrating than Torres shitness was Ramires unintelligent in the build up. run towards a crowd of players instead of using your run to pull a defender away and create space.I still can't decide who has a lower football IQ between Ramires, Torres and Luiz. kellzfresh, The Mak, Kinol and 1 other
Las7 951
Go ahead and give examples. if you are going to make outlandish claims then you must be able to back it up.great strikers aren't magician or superheroes. There is something magical about Messi; Ronaldo; Cronaldo; Henry; Romario; Drogba; Zlatan; Eto'o in their primeAn on form RvP was the difference between mid table squad and title winning one Suarez and Sturridge have single handedly maintained Liverpools title challenge this season as I've said Liverpool would be midtable or worse if they had our strikers in their place regardless of system. Zlatan transformed PSG from a team that was in the League 2 to basically walking the Championship in FranceYou build a team around a great striker, you don't build a team around a shite striker. Blue Armour 4,439
I will like to see what people will blame our attacking deficiencies on when we buy a worldclass/top striker and the current problem of struggling to break down compact defences and inability to retain quality possession still persist. Some people are in for a rude awakening. The only way I see this problem being neutralised is if we can somehow find a striker with 96-100 % efficiency rate, who would make the absolute most of every scraps he gets because that's what our strikers usually have to feed on/work with. such striker might exist on mars.with the way we play football, I don't see a top striker changing much. the changes must come from the training ground which starts with a change of mentality, philosophy and direction. We all watch football and how many times have we seen world class strikers struggle because they were left isolated, frustrated and deprived of quality services upfront leading to an ineffective attacking impact from these top strikers. It happens quite a lot especially in big games due to a tactical approach and set up that doesn't allow strikers to flourish. For our midfield the viable option is to have an attacker who works like a slave for the midfield behind him...That's essentially what Didier Drogba did, dropping deep, making the most of average service and contributing anyway he could....apart from the two seasons when he could delegate some of his work to other forwards like Anelka and Schevchenko, and actually score goals. lionsden

I've seen him straight up murdering various clear scoring opportunities offered to him by for example Hazard. He just lost it, no excuse. darrus

Could their first touch, finishing and mental toughness be any worse really?. i doubt it. sounds like a joke/exaggeration but i'm actually dead serious. darrus

I understand most dislike him but a lot of supporters pity him and still support him - if he for a moment looks like he's trying to Bogarde us then that sympathy can turn to anger very quickly and we'll make it very uncomfortable for him at the Bridge.Don't care what it takes, we need to get shot of him this summer and move on. Thendo 1,088
https://twitter.com/chelseafc/status/452046829128286208Tbh he has to say something like that when asked directly. But it sounded pretty clear that we will get a "top" striker come summer, whatever happens to Torres I don't care aslong as he isnt playing for us. I'd rather have him rot in the u-21's ala Malouda if he refuses to leave than him taking up a squad/bench role... Quick cash gets his signature and him out of London. Hopefully a good compromise can be found and hopefully this is the final over-priced, aged flop that Chelsea buy. Don't think Roman Abramovich and company can afford another mistake like this massive January 2011 F..k-up, unless it's just dandy dropping down into mediocrity on another stupid investment in the future.Chelsea WILL improve with Torres, Luiz, Mikel, Lampard (Moses, Mata, Marin, Ba, Cole) gone from the payroll. Ready to do a victory dance. mediator
Pizy 18,909
Hopefully his "future" is only 6 more matches.Though the way José sounded in the presser it made it seem like he's resigned to the fact that it'll be nearly impossible to offload him. If we buy a world class striker and have Lukaku as the number two and Torres as third choice and we rarely have to see him at least it's better than what we have now.
