bushman 2,043
That's a pretty good idea. I hope Jose does it because we can't throw Ash in a CL final when he hasn't been on the pitch for months. Just one thing still puzzles me. As I looked at the attendance figure, only a little over 39 thou people were there last night. Now, my question:Where are all those dummies when Chelsea plays in the most important game of this season? Something about UEFA regulations.

edetarod 2,155
there is reason to be optimistic here because we'll be the underdog against every opponent we could face in the semis (maybe not Atletico)and we thrive in those situations

In European matches the capacity is decreased a bit as far as I know.

MetsajCFC 1,255
Realistically speaking we're 3 games away from winning the whole thing. That's theory of course. Imagine if United eliminate Bayern and we get them in the semis, not a bad option! Kieran.
Shane 2,275
So it has something to do with the CL regulations?I know, Chelsea´s capacity is at over 41 thou. Its because there is a certain health and safety regulation that there is only so many people allowed in the ground, and the Champions Leasgue meants extra television trucks and extra everything really, which reduces the amount of spectators that can come in. duren batu 15
Seem like there's some tendency base on five years ago that whoever that beat Barcelona in the semi final will win the champion league.I think I would choose barca.
Popular Post! Rmpr 8,977 Posted April 9, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 9, 2014 Yeah would rather face Madrid in the final rather than over two legs. I think the best way for us to win is to avoid both clubs from Madrid tbh...1. Atletico beating Barça and facing us would be a nightmare. Their intensity would demand too much of our players and they are more physical as well. Also, their style fits our weakness (something seen last year). Of course we can go through, but the chances of our players getting burnt out is huge.2. Barcelona's tik taka has a huge vulnerability when facing both Chelsea and Mourinho. Chelsea is one of the very few clubs Barcelona fears and Messi cant play well against us. Not to say they dont have a defence and our AMs will exploit it. I would be quite happy drawing them again!3. Real Madrid itself would be a decent draw, but that whole Mourinho vs Squad thing worries me. I mean, their biggest weakness is the lack of heart/focus, but against their former coach that would not happen. They would treat a game against Jose like the game of their lives and everyone would in a "mission". I prefer for somebody else to knock them out because I definitely dont want to face them in those circunstances!4. Bayern is a team that intrigues me. They are capable of steam-rolling everyone, but in Europe they seem lazy and only doing what is strictlly necessary to advance. That said, a final against us would make them way too angry, specially after Munich. However, a two-legged match-up might return them to that "lazy" state" so we can try to make the most of it. If we can keep a clean sheet at home, it is winnable!5. Manchester United, well...They wont advance anyways, but if something so stunning like that happens we must pray to face them. Not only they would be by faaaaaar the worst team on Friday's draw, but eliminating them at Old Trafford to go to Lisbon would be a nice pay-off for 2008!!!I know there isnt an easy route, but Bayern in the semis and Barcelona in the final would be the best scenario imo. Beepu 1,714
It gets me wondering at times when I see some chelsea fans fearing Madrid or Bayern, do fans of those teams fear drawing us as well? I know nobody feared man utd this season.
Jase 43,479
Not sure if anyone realized but if Barcelona and Bayern Munich win tonight, the teams in the last 4 will be the same as two seasons ago - Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern. At this point we have a better chance of winning the CL than the prem. At least if we win ALL our UEFA Champions League matches we win the trophy, can't say the same for our league games. Not really. We can practically even just draw our way to the trophy. And if we win the CL and City wins the PL it would be just like two seasons ago....with the exception of no FA cup double for us. Y123CFC 69
I know Real Madrid are a class team but I wouldn't be as scared of them as some.Remember when we played Spurs at the end of last season? Bale was in top form. Well, Azpilicueta dealt with him brilliantly. Our defence has also dealt with much better strikers than Benzema.Ronaldo would obviously be a huge threat, but Jose knows that team really well. Also, their defending last night was comical.Plus, we've got Mourinhoooo! Jase 43,479
By the way, our semi final games are on either side of the league game at Anfield. This is going to be tough, if it wasn't already!
