Reason for sacking RDM - "We felt we needed a change to keep the club going in the right direction."

Well we're going in the opposite direction AKA backwards. - is that good?

Under RDM, i wouldn't have expected wins vs. Everton and Arsenal, but I would have vs. QPR, Reading and Newcastle today even. I also believe we would have knocked out Swansea City.

We'd be doing better under RDM in the league (JUST) but still in the cup comps and probably would have won the CWC.

When FSW was appointed:

Rafael Benitez insists he will win over the Chelsea fans who are unhappy with his appointment as interim manager.

Benitez, who has replaced Roberto Di Matteo until the end of the season, is unpopular with some Blues supporters after his time as Liverpool boss.

"At the end of season they will be really pleased, I am almost sure," said the 52-year-old Spaniard.

"I like to do things in the right way for the fans. The fans and manager want to win every game and I'll do my best."

Yes, you right...

''The owner and the Board believe that in Benitez we have a manager with significant experience at the highest level of football, who can come in and immediately help deliver our objectives.

The two-time UEFA Manager of the Year comes with outstanding pedigree.''

Benitez, asked if he might not make the end of season: "We are doing a good job as far as what you see on the pitch."

:clown:

Benitez thinks we are trying to avoid relegation, which he is doing a splendid job of avoiding.

Not entirely his fault. The board didn't back him in the window and now that will come back to cost us. He can only work with what he has, and our squad isn't good enough, and also incredibly unbalanced. His substitutions (or lack of) have been questionable but today's game could've gone either way. Individual mistakes have cost us far too much recently.
