  1. 1. Rafa Out?

Recommended Posts

& yet again, when he does choose to play his best team in a potentially tough game, we come out on top. I don't know what he has against Oscar & Marin exactly, starting Betrand instead of either of them was the only questionable call he made, but many of our players showed up with their A-game today so it was proved to be ultimately irrelevant.

Even I give Rafa credit where credit is due; today, his team selection was good & the players he picked did the rest.

However the issue is whether he is going to revert back to pointless & naive rotation-minded decisions, or finally understand that this isn't Liverpool anymore where a top 4 finish is a luxury rather than an absolute necessity.

Luckily the Southampton game is going to be a good opportunity to rest any tired legs if the FA Cup tie was anything to go by, but he simply must learn from recent results & start with as strong a line up as possible (i.e. Torres on the bench).

& he just cannot afford to make any unnecessary rotations against Arsenal - that is what I'm really worried about right now...

A funny article from goal.com

Benitez getting his own back He came. He got booed. He's had enough.

Like a fed-up mother withdrawing her son's Playstation controller until he does his maths homework, Rafa Benitez is punishing Chelsea's fans for their recent behaviour.

Until they buck their ideas up and show some respect, the team will not be putting in good performances at home.

However, they will continue battering teams on the road, just to show everyone at Stamford Bridge what they're missing out on.

If the Blues' fans want Eden Hazard playing well at the Bridge, they will be nice to Benitez, maybe sing a song about how he's going to win them lots of trophies and stop wittering on about Roberto Di Matteo.

The fans will have a chance to prove they've learnt their lesson against Southampton on Wednesday, but if their behaviour does not improve, Rafa will have no choice but to let Arsenal win in west London next weekend.

Shed End. You've been warned.

I've been on this forum for 2 years and seen the Carlo Out thread, the AVB Out thread, Di Matteo was sacked before one was even made. Benitez for me just isn't good enough, he's far from a fans favourite to begin with, he's gotten us out of two cups we were currently favourites for, and in the process has made Stamford Bridge a laughing stock. I've had enough, he hasn't even wanted to bring in anymore new players, what you think we can still go onto challenge for the title now we have Demba Ba?. These results have been incredibly inconsistent, what's going on?, you're 2-0 up against one of the most vulnerable sides in the premier league (i believe they've conceded the most goals so far) and instead we concede 2 more goals.

Though instead of me just ranting my arse off, why not just turn this into a decent debate.

What does everyone else think about this? should we give Rafa more time? or are we just making things worse for ourselves. I know their are hardly any good replacements, but surely Roman will find a way, I am sick of him, it's like he makes us lose on purpose. DISCUSS

All emotions aside, this had nothing to do with Rafa Benitez. Look at the facts, we just don't take our chances, not even the decent ones. Lampard seems to be obsessed with the record, wants to prove a point to the board it seems - very selfish against the team. Sure, to certain point Benitez has to take the blame, it comes with the job but some statements I read are like shooting blind-folded, not even connected to Benitez. We try to walk to ball in at times or make wrong decisions to shoot or to pass. 17 y.o Luke Shaw just made the 1st goal for them, look how much room he had and for the pass. Same for Puncheon, had a century to pick a pass out. both quality finishes but go down to defensive errors. That was our game in hand and we blew it.

Look at the bright side, we are still 5 points clear of Everton who are 5th. Top4 finish is really all we should aim for and secure this season. We need a change but I'm afraid I can't put my finger on it what's going on at Chelsea. Something's not clicking. Perhaps exhaustion, perhaps just bad luck, who knows.

Rafa must stay atleast till June, who'd you replace him with? And saying "anyone but him" only proves that people are high on emotions rather than thinking it over realistically.

Arsenal up next, kind of wish it was in the Emirates

I know saying YES RAFA OUT is a popular statement, even more after a draw which feels like a loss with all the emotions, but this team isn't only about Rafa and Torres. Senior players need to step up, seeing how spineless the team is without a proper leader- Lampard is a great footballer but he is not a leader, quietly goes along his role. The team is young and the more you need guidance of an older player who has been in Chelsea for so long time. I think the solution is to get rid of the old guard except Cech, lose the player power, but that can only come in the summer.

Till then we are stuck with Rafa and like it or not, we can't get a better coach atm. I agree with people that he is too slow to make changes but didnt most of the TC 'experts' praise him for his starting line up today? The line up was good, the created chances, but the thing that describes our season so far is utter WASTEFULNESS. We create so many chances but we just can't convert. Of course Torres is not the only culprit, far from it. That said, we should cash in on him and get a striker in in the summer. When it comes to Rafa, there are a lot of fans that never gave him a chance, clinging on to easy arguments like 'he said bad things to us' etc... We fans are a reason why home form has been rubbish, no proper support from our own stadium. The inconsistency, one moment we clap and sing, the other moment we boo. Singing the RDM song is all great and all, but he is gone, we should sing about our players, club and move on. Being so stuck in the past is holding us back and we are starting to sound like liverpool fans referring to history etc. This kind of attitude should stop, deep inside we all know it.

Sloth, come on, I supported "Carlo out", "AVB out" and wasnt angry when RDM got the axe.

But the last thing we need right now, is sacking 2 managers in the same sesaon. All we can do is pray for a place in UCL next season, and ask for another manager next season.
