Would've been stupid to take Hazard off, he was creating the most of the front 4 today. Check the individual statistics on http://www.whoscored...elsea-Liverpool

The statistics on there usually give a clear picture who was playing good/bad.

Oscar was playing ok but was missing the cutting edge a bit in the final third.

Overall 3 points lost due to poor finishing really. Oscar and especially Mata had great chances. Also the fact we didn't play at our best again, shows we are a bit tired. Rest some players against West Brom. Tough game or not, at this rate our key players will be completly burnt out by the final third of the season.

Oh...And Falcao please...

I never actually realised how much of a push it was from Suarez on Ramires for the goal, i was so pissed off i didn't even take notice of the replays or anything. Seeing it now on MOTD i can't believe it, it was so blatant. I'm in shock, again lol. Still pissed off at Mata though for not giving us that 2-0 lead before half time. We didn't play that bad today, just got a bit unlucky and missed chances. Just like against Man Utd, we failed to win because of the officials. They're all playing their part.

Guys, we play just fine. We are in transition, but

some of you expect perfect play from all players every game...Like they are some serious PL title

contenders. So far, the results were great. We have young team with low experience, thats why we lose points vs big teams. They are bit tired and the only thing we realy NEED is striker. Hopefuly we get one in January.

Remember Bayern from 4/5 years ago? They were realy bad. Then they decided for more dynamic team, bought few players and that was it. Their defence of Boateng-Badstuber was realy joke (even bigger than ours). But they

played together few years, brought in some depth to the squad and now they are destroying everything. With that very same CB pair of Boateng and Badstuber, they havent sold them

or anything. The team started to play together, players understand each other (for CB pair, that is the most vital part; to know how to organise, comunicate,..)

The point is that this team is together for first year. What we see is already better than we (at least me. expected. Oscar and Hazard fit perfectly, they didnt dissapear and we are still second in league. The experience will come. But some of you guys are so impatient, spoiled. Wait two seasons and our team will do miracles.

Sure there are striker (probably 2), a CB, a LB (if Cole leaves), a 'xabi alonso esque' player needed, but they will all come eventualy. Right now, we need only one good striker.

We play great, if we had taken those chances every game, we would be almost world class. I just dont get it how can half of this forum members blame 90% of the players that they play shit, that they cant pass, defend, tackle,..every team makes mistakes, but thet

convert their chances in goals and win. United is shit, but thanks to strikers, they are winning. Simple.

saw that push was obvious yet Rodgers thought the scum deserved to win ,,,,,respected him at Swansea NOT NOW

As was the case today and on many other occasions he looses the ball too often. His passing accuracy of around 70% and constantly either getting dispossessed or passes leading to turnovers. Link up play is the thing that's being exaggerated about Torres.

You can't loose the ball over 50% of the time you get a pass in a match(like tonight) and than harp on about link up play.

He might be leaving, doesn't mean that until he does we should not use him - you don't rate him fair enough. But Torres is worse goal scorer than Sturridge and at the moment we need someone up top to finish up chances setup by our midfield. Torres is on the wing; deep in midfield; or simply not busting a gut standing in one spot instead of trying to actually score far too often.

Right now points are key - we should concentrate on winning games rather than who is going to be sold and who is our main striker.

Torres has not done enough to be one and hence he should be dropped for a few games till we test alternatives.

Even Didier used to lose the ball when it was played to him so that he could hold it up..and its not just that...With his off-the ball movement Torres also succeeds in drawing defenders to create space, that in very dangerous areas...

I know it looks like I'm trying to find excuses but I too would love it if he was replaced ASAP. I'm just trying to say that RDM might have his reasons for continuing to start Torres despite his poor record..

Yeah i think we see your point, and he did get past a couple of players, which was good, but we need more from him. People get on his back because it is the same most of the time. Which is why not many people are going on about mata missing his oppertunity, because he has proven what he can do, and i am sure he knows he had a bad game. Torres is still trying which is good, and the crowd is still behind him, and we must play the hand we were dealt...

This match was at least good as a reality check so we all can see that our team is still a work in progress and not a title contender one. :halo:

Yeah but all teams are a work in progress. Man citys defence is pretty bad tbh, and man u's is far from convincing. In fact i take our best back 5 over theirs all day. Yes it is their strikeforce that has recently proved the difference, but we have as much quality as them just not enough in a crucial area. I am not saying we are going to win the league but it is still definitely a 3 horse race... We are underdogs but we are in it.

We need Busquets and Falcao and maybe Bony (being persuaded on his thread)

I know that's bet part of 100 million, but we need it lol :)

Sell Torrid and Studge for around 30 mill - not bad business :)

Yeah i think thats getting a bit extreme... I honestly think we can dramatically improve this team with 15/20 mil. Get a cheap proven finisher, another cb to provide some cover...

Obviously i would rather have falcoa than any other striker, but its just that we don't have to spend a shit load to make an improvement if we don't want to.

WAY too much negativity here after a disappointing match!! I think getting off to such a strong start let some supporters get their expectations way out of whack. Top-4 was always a realistic goal for this season and still is, RDM made the right substitutions, not really much else he could do. Our problems are the same problems we've been having all season-inability to create chances. We are actually, I believe, one of the best teams at putting away our opportunities once we get them, we just aren't creating enough chances. We also are in between styles. We're not really a counter-attacking team and we're not really a possession team.

Out of our attacking three midfielders today, only Hazard played well. Our pivot was OK, but that's the best it ever really is. It's hard to play fluidly when your central midfield can't create. Our defence played well generally. Not sure why people are getting on Torres after this game. Is he supposed to get the ball at midfield and go past 4 defenders and score? Yes, he's been generally bad for us in the almost two years he's been with Chelsea, but not every instance of dropped points is down to Torres.

Last nights game was totally different to that. We created chances, just weren't clinical in the finishing (on top of some great goal keeping). Mata, Oscar and Torres pretty much had a goal in the bag. Should of at least been 3-0 up at half time.

But I understand where your coming from. Its the piss around the top of the box mentality that frustrates me. Just put the damn ball in the 18 yard box.

Also, when a DOES cross comes in, there are piss all Blue shirts in the box to tap it in. There only seems to be one or two Chelsea players around that 6 yard box, the rest of the attackers seem to be sitting around the D. We just need bodies in the box

Liverpool were terrible right up until their goal, which swung the momentum and naturally they finished stronger because of the buzz but the first 70 minutes they were utterly terrible, worst away display at The Bridge since Stoke 7-0.

They are a very average side and the fans seem to be optimistic about Rodgers long term but to me they seem to be taking alleyways full of dead ends.

And that brings me back to the point of RDM making late substitutions again. He really should start trying to make changes earlier in games rather than wait till after the 70th minute mark to make one. He can't expect our subs to be a superhero and make a big game with only 15-20 minutes of game time on the pitch! He always seem to wait till we concede or go behind before making those changes!

It's just worrying how we just let that game slip instead of really going for that 2-0+

Think we did try to go for the killer but our final passes and shots were rather disappointing. It lacked any sort of real quality and we paid the price for it.
