We played well, we had more chances and Liverpool had very few chances for most of the game, we just didn't score the second, it's that simple, every teams have days like that. I will say though that Man Utd had Hernandez to win them 3 points yesterday, City had Dzeko earlier today to do the same, how many late winners has Sturridge scored? It doesn't help that the man he is replacing, Torres, isn't good enough if we are to achieve what we want. With a top class striker we probably would have won today.

my main thought is that we played better than we have in our last 2 games which is good. there was movement, people were making runs.

I still dont understand why Mikel is attacking. its happening a fair bit at the moment. He's good defensively and awful when he attacks. so when hes up the pitch and we lose the ball, if he doesnt get back the opposition will get a chance. do what was being donw last season/beggning of this season and dont allow him to roam, leave it to Ramires!

The true difference between the start of the season and now, in my view, is that in the earlier games, when players were in vital positions, they looked up and found the correct pass....

Of late it seems to be that when we have breached the opposition defense, instead of going for the easy pass and the resultant sure shot goal, a little bit of selfishness has crept in and players go for the shot and glory.

Have noticed it in the past few weeks, and today on a few vital occasions as well. That is what makes the difference between being 1-0 and being 3-0, which we should be if players are making the better decisions.

Not a good performance today, we're slipping away and thats not good. The whole season is left, But we could have so easily lost the game in the end.

Oscar should not have started this game he blew many of our chances with bad passes and his wastefulness. Hazard and Mata also not as bright as usual.Torres is still fast and an amazing dribbler but he is no way intelligent enough to make sth out of that. When his instincts let him down which is just all the time since he joined us, he is useless. Sturridge is not a central striker, too. imagine that chance after the hazard freekick does not fall to mata or mikel but to lamps, i give u a 100% certainty he simply would have banged that in without asking questions. Imagine that one good bertrand cross coming in, lamps would have poked it in, cos he is a finisher.

Man city have so many strikers you even forgot one (Balotelli). Our 3 can only do so much. They need some help from a striker. If you are hazard, you keep running looking up and passing to torres, who loses it, your gonna get pissed off, and try and go it alone.

Okay, just had a walk to cool off, and this is my match analysis...

Positives

- Azpilicueta had a really good game. I would certainly like to see more of him.

- Defense looked solid until 70-75 mins.

- Ramires had a really good game defensively.

- Terry. Captain, Leader, Legend. Enough said.

Negatives

- Torres had ANOTHER distinctly average game. He was decent in buildup play, but, as always, lacks the goals. God, what a cliché.

- Offensively we had LOADS (!!!!!!!) of chances to close the game in 1st half AND the first part of the second. We simply weren't clinical enough.

- Sturridge, despite only getting what, 15 mintues, looked just as bad as Torres.

- Christmas form is coming, merry x-mas.

- I hate Suarez, but holy Moses what a difference it makes to have a striker capable of scoring.

RDM needs to get it fixed. Of course we are in transition, but that is no excuse for a result like tonight. No way. I for one back RDM all the way, but these are problems that are crucial to our season. We simply can't rely on Oscar, Hazard or Mata saving us every time we go behind. We need a striker who is capable of changing the game.

I'm not going to start another Sturridge vs Torres discussion. Let's face it. They both haven't got what it takes.

All in all a really bad day for Chelsea, which should have been a win. Luckily Enrique failed to score in the last minute. What a pain in the ass that would have been, eh.
