Poor performance once again but the 3 points was all that matter from this game. And we inflicted the first defeat on Shakhtar in 37 competitive matches(W35 D2) since they last lost, to Porto in November 2011.

We now sit second in the group, on level points with Shakhtar and 1 ahead of Juventus.

Some may ask why we are in second when we have better GD than Shakhtar. If two teams are on level points, then here is how they separate them in the group standings.

It is something extra he does. His main priority is attacking wise, and then he's meant to help out at the back and he did and has been doing so.

Like i said he will sometimes get some things wrong, be in the wrong position etc but that's common when attackers are asked to defend. Look at Drogba in the CL last season.

I don't agree, even if he is a winger, he must defend first. He should always be helping the man behind him when the team is defending. It is not something extra, it is how the system works. If one player does not so his job the system fails and we concede goals as we have seen the past few matches.

Drogba last year was playing at LB, that is completely different. For his position, DD was always an excellent defender, always putting pressure on the back four and doubling on the CMs not to mention that he was our best set piece defender. His defensive job was to keep the center halves occupied, high up the pitch and uninvolved in the attack, not to make tackles in the box as he was asked to do last year.

Lets bench him, really. The taste of the pudding is in the eating.

Maybe we will do better, maybe worse ...

Voting MOTM is tough, was gonna give it to Mikel but just had to go for Oscar. The boy oozes absolute class, he's going to be the best player in the world one day, he's got so much quality, he's a genius i can't say much more. Also thought Mata was good, Hazard drifted in and out of the game, did some great things but didn't do it enough. David Luiz... well i've already said enough about him to wish Cahill and JT would be our 2 CBs. He does more harm than good back there. Maybe we should try him up front, i'm not even joking. Ramires was also really good yesterday. That midfield 5 are just playing so well atm, if we can rest them all sufficiently throughout the season, we can be an absolute force in everything. I just worry about the fitness at this exact moment though because we have played a lot of games lately and the next dozen games are all hard! I want us to beat Liverpool so much. This 11 if fully fit would destroy them no doubt but fitness could give them a chance and lately they really have had the indian sign over us in the league.

We need to use them all against Liverpool and maybe rest a couple against WBA. I know WBA are a very good side but i do feel we can beat them with a slightly weakened side. We then have Juve and Man City. This is a really tough spell of games. We have to beat Juve away really so we can rest everyone against the Danes.

Fernadinho is the advanced form of ramires. He is so good with his passes and he dribbles past people too, he even has a stronger size. I am a big fan of his passing, it cut through our defence a few times.

David Luiz really needs to become our 3rd choice CB. He has absolutely no discipline and his decision making from the back is woeful.

In the last few weeks, i can not remember one moment where he made a successful pass forward. He tries these spectacular long balls all the time and that always results in us losing the ball.

Even when he runs with the ball into the opponents half, 9/10 times he cannot find a pass and loses the ball and makes our defense vulnerable.

With our attacking setup , we cannot afford to have Luiz playing in the fashion that he does.

If you all have noticed, something alot of us on here were annoyed with, Cech has stopped hoofing the ball forward all the time, and plays it out on the ground.

He has adapted to our style of play.

The problem with Luiz is that he CANNOT be trusted anywhere on the pitch.

If he is not making kamikaze runs forward, leaving the back exposed, then he is trying to dribble the ball in the defense.

If he is not trying to dribble the ball, then he does the unnecessary " Look here, and make a blind pass the other way".

I really think he needs to get his shit together.

Otherwise bench him. We have terry and Ivanovic who do a terrific job in CB, and Azpi for RB.
