Anyone saying managers won't want to come here, i would think it would be the opposite. You come here for a year get a huge payoff and go on your merry way. We won't have any problem attracting managers the problem lies within the fact that i doubt there is a person on earth that can just magically transform us into romans dream as it takes time which he surely must realise. Still its his money and pep is a good manager...

Agree not within a short amount of time espically. And that will be an issue me thinks, managers realising they're not going to get time to make a differnce here so why bother trying?Somewhere else where they will get more time would be a better option and thats why reckon we will have a problem attracting.Money aside be nice to move somewhere and actually be there for the long run.Have a chance to play your way and make a mark etc rather then just be looking over the shoulder as a bad run starts

Rodgers said when linked in summer that he wouldnt come as he wanted to furthur not damage his career. And thats from someone whose worked within the club.Granted may not be top class or whatever but still a bit hmmmmmmmm sums it up in a way

What are the Guarantees that he would make us invincible like Barca ? He's highly overrated imo , had the best players in his squad , and any other guy would have won the same titles .

There are no guarantees, but I strongly disagree with the rest of your post about him being overrated etc.

What I would say is that they are both world class coaches but I simply don't think Klopp would come to England next summer. Guardiola is refreshed and available. Some people are alluding to Klopp being more suited to our club and I'd be interested to know what they're basing that on. I will admit to not having read many profiles on him so if there are people with links to things like that it might help this thread.

With regards Guardiola there are a number of profiles and interviews with him, but a good place for people to start might be the new book by Balague about Guardiola. It might dispel a number of myths about him and Barca.

I really hate when people use they have the best squad as the reason.

Madrid won la liga last year with the best squad in la liga and he also won it here with the best squad does it mean that mourinho is overrated.

City won it last year with the best squad does it make mancini overrated

Manu had the best squad almost every year and does it make SAF overrated when he won epl.

Worldclass ? If he had won the same accolades managing Atleti with Aguero , Forlan etc than surely he'd be. I dont know why people rates him so much for managing Barca and winning the league and UEFA ? Even Mark Hughes would have won the same accolades with Barca -_- I'm not saying he's doesn't deserve any acknowledgment but the fact remain he won all the accolades with the best team in the world ^_^Imo , Klopp would be a lesser risk than him

Mourinho had won the leagues with Inter , Porto and Chelsea before , Mancini had won it with Inter before. And Barca Literally had the best players in his reign , Zlatan , Eto , Ronaldinho lol too many stars to mention :)

We had the best squad in epl when mourinho was here. The best cb partnership. Wc midfielder. Arjen robben was almost unplayable. And we have drogba

Mancini won 3 straight titles with inter before mourinho.

I agree we had but Barca team at that time still had a slight edge over us . They had the best team in the world. And for the Record Mancini had managed Fio and Lazio before Inter. What i'm saying is Mourinho and Mancini constructed their teams whereas Pep got the best players in the plate :)

Yes, Mourinho always made sure he had the best requirements at his new working place. He is no god, that's for sure. What happened in the summer transfer periods of 2006 and 2007 cost him his job and condemned us to the search of a new identity. He never achieved to transform a team. the signings of Ballack and Shevchenko were forced on him but we he made the best out of that and won two minor cups, only lost the league because of JTs and Robbens lengthy injuries and some bad luck. But then he blew it. We still had an epic squad entering the 2007/8 season, but we sold Robben and his replacement, Malouda did not really got familiar to the EPL soon enough, nonetheless he should have strengthened our strikeforce with some solid, proven epl class and width we were lacking then already. but he only bought squad player in Sidwell, Ben-haim and some other guys who all turned out to be shit, Claudio Pizarro who did not fit either and Juliano Beletti as a squad player instead of a proper replacement for Paulo Ferreira. Here he should have incented the transformation, he never really recognised anyone from the youth nor bought successors to Lampard or Drogba.

At Inter he just tinkered a bit with the class players he had, got the best out of them and set them perfectly up for that kind of astonishing defensive displays. At Real Madrid he again got one of the best squads ever and made them play successfull. Mourinho is brillant tactical wise and great with the players but transfers are not exactly his major strength and i do not know if he is the man to make our transition if Roman wants us to play Barca style.

Personally I would love him to return and make us the remake of our 2004-2006 team, but you do not get players like Makelele, Lampard and Drogba again, football has changed and so players have. The manager only can make the players fulfill their potential and catalyze that to success but when the board signs the players, it is more important they get their ideas started out and sign players that we need and that fit our system and the football we play.
