The Skipper 20,609
We should play a strong team against both Shakhtar and United and play a weakened team against United in the League Cup.
YouNameIt 1,511
Maybe because he's been our top scorer under RDM?I couldnt care less if Torres scores 20 goals in one game against Leicster or against some other team in a cup game and dont deliver consistantly in the EPL/CL. Ivanovic has been a more important scorer for us for the love of God.My point is, Torres hasnt really done anything that earns him the starting spot ahead of Danny. Be it against QPR or Arsenal. And it's not like he's been having shockers, like he had last season, which would lead to him getting benched. He played badly against QPR and Juve, but every other game he's done well, either by scoring or making great plays for the team. Everyone can see this, but some *cough* just choose to ignore it. Just like they do with Mikel, only highlighting when he does something bad.Your point about Ivanovic just reinforces my point really lol.

TheCount 146
Thank God you are not a chelsea scout/manager or we will have TITUS BRAMBLE as our captain.Talking about size is an insult to mata, ashley cole, marin also which means u don't know wat mata and cole represent for chelsea fcOscar isn't intimidating on the field? U make me laugh. Just ask pirlo and arteta, oh and paul scholes on sundayLastly TheCount observes oscar to be a cunt funny considering your nameTitus bramble? no. Yaya toure, fellani, witsel, etc more like it,Just because its "fashionable" at the minute for all your players to be small and creative dosent mean a bigger player cant do the same job.Ridiculous.I also never said just because he's small he's no good, i said having too many small players on the field at once isnt good, so dont put words in my mouth dear.Ashley cole is a player unto his own he is an athlete and is far too strong for his size, its what made him so amazing as a player,Something marin and mata dont have in strength btw, but its ok IF you have the physical side in your locker. Also, oscar isnt intimidating on the field, regardless of how he plays, its a physical thing, you dont see anyone pulling out a tackle with him like you would see with say, Ivan. I think you've missed the point.Theirs hardly much point arguing with you tho, since you have oscar in your name and profile pic, obviously your opinion will be fairly bias.....You would also fucking swear passing didnt exist before barca's tiki taka, seems people think if you dont have a team of creative tiny players the ball never touches the fucking ground....what a joke. Dont u think that Torres would get benched now if we still had Drogba? Long ago mate!Well obviously. Drogba is 5x the striker Torres is. If we had Falcao, Torres will be on the bench etc.But we don't, we only have Torres, and that's why he plays. And until now, he's been doing pretty well, so he shouldn't still be getting so much stick.
Ankit 3,176
Chelsea FC @chelseafcJuan Mata says tomorrow's game is going to be a fight for the ball as Shakhtar always have a lot of possession. #CFCChelsea FC @chelseafcMata says Roberto Di Matteo connects very well with team in every meeting and is able to get into the mind of every player. #CFCMata says tomorrow Chelsea will play for the win, and trying for six points in two games v Shakhtar is important for qualification. #CFCChelsea FC @chelseafcRDM: 'I remember very well how Lucescu's team played in Italy. He likes to play quick, possession football, which Shakhtar do now.' #CFCChelsea FC @chelseafcRDM: 'We have no new injuries from the weekend game.' #CFC Chelsea FC @chelseafcRDM on Willian, the Shakhtar playmaker: 'I was not involved so don't know if there was any interest from #CFC or not. He is fantastic.'Chelsea FC @chelseafcRDM: 'I'm just happy to be leading this group and working with these players. I have #CFC in my heart.'Chelsea FC @chelseafcRDM adds that he hopes the good form and impressive football will carry on for a long time. #CFC

However, we've always had Danny and he hasnt been given a chance because of Torres. And not because Torres deserves the spot more than Danny does, or that he's so good that Danny cant compete with him, but becasue his name is Torres and we bought him for 50m. Hutcho 8,443
I would love to see danny start this, give him a chance and give torres a rest as he has played every game and will no doubt start vs united.Super frankie, and JT should both play as well, and i would probably bench luiz to give him a rest as he will probs start at the weekend aswell though it doesn't matter that much either way. Bertrand i think is worth a go. Also maybe rest either mata or hazard and start moses. So:CechIvan Cahill/luiz TERRY Bertrand Mikel LampardMoses Oscar Mata/Hazard SturridgeBut RDM knows best and we are unbeaten this year, so i am very happy whoever he picks. BlueLion. 21,491
Yes we're on a great run - but Shakhtar are on an equally as good run.A draw is a great result. A win would be incredible.I'd happily take a point from this game. 4 points from six is the minimum against this side if we want to progress. killer1257 3,282
I don´t think that we can rest Hazard or even Mata, because that game is too important for us.Maybe we can rest some of the players, when we play againt Man United in the League Cup,but not in the Champions League. We are not allowed to drop these important points,if we consider that we also have to play against Juventus in Italy.Maybe Terry can get a chance and I also think that Sturridge should start, because he is a real " striker" with a perfect movement in the box and Torres isn´t. He's been injured only for a few matches. The point is that Torres has been given first team spot even tho he did not deserve it.He was injured during a period where we had games every 3 days, surely he would have started a couple then had he been fit. That was the point i was trying to make.

Milan 17,957
At least we know he is not forgotten. Although seeing him injured again is not really promising. Hopefully it really is only something minor and not serious.
