The Dossier: Lampard and Terry must be sacrificed for Chelsea revolution to take shape

While this article may be seen as laughable to some, it shows us that RDM must have the courage to make radical decisions once in a while when things go pear shaped and not be afraid to tackle any possible rumbles from the choices he makes.

It also confirms my opinion that Lampard is simply not suited for the double pivot, and as seen against Madrid and QPR, will see us being constantly run over by the opposition and unable to control the game.

no, not rid them

the concern is not about their current quality and capabilities

lampard still good in some aspect

JT character, game reading, and organisation on defending still world class

but if you want play more fluid football, you should change them, atleast not too often starting XI ( obviously, lampard not in double pivot)

because their not anymore can offer mobility, movement, and pace

but some really really well said there

There are more serious issues, however, which are not quite so easily solved – one of which was hinted at in the Blues’ early Premier League encounters but laid bare for all of Europe to see by a confident and well-drilled Atletico side: a complete lack of mobility in the midfield.

As a partnership, Frank Lampard and Jon Obi Mikel have many qualities, but pace is not among them. Once they took the lead, this was something Atletico exploited superbly,...

Lampard possesses the technical quality to do this, but he lacks the pace and dynamism to run a midfield from a deep-lying position next to a destroyer such as Mikel. Atletico knew this and used it to their advantage. Better teams in bigger matches will surely do the same.

terry isn't the problem, we play with a deep defensive line, the only problem i see is lampard likes to be the superhero, when he really is a 0 know n days, put oscar in ther and let him play with mkel see how much we improve.

LOL more 'Lampard' bashing... Lampard is still a quality player - but it's like asking a 'spoon' to be a 'fire guard' or 'tits on a fish' - doesn't work playing him in a position he's not suited too!

Like I say - go watch Scholes for Man U - that's where Lampard should be playing and 'orchestrating' things - not trying to defend + transition the ball forward- he just doesn't have the legs.

I also suggest you go watch him before his last injury, you like bashing him - so go get some perspective on what a truly fantastic player he has been and COULD still be - if played in a decent position!

As for Terry - without him, we are a shambles as Hutcho said. He has at least another 2 years (not every game) and he either needs to bring Cahil or Luiz up to speed on how to be a captain and marshall the defence.
