SeB 1,281
Kyle Walker was a very talented player, brilliant in the u-21 tournament also. But Redknapp shot him out there to play all 38 games in the league and in cup matches, he was going off form halfway through the season and Harry couldn't really drop him even though he had too. It's hard for young players in the Premier League to just adapt, it takes time and you have to handle them, not just shot them in the deep end. And that's what I'm saying with Bertrand, he's going to have loads of pressure on him as he is an English talent and has just been given his first England cap and is getting one again i believe. So it's best to just rotate with Cole rather than play most games or even shove him out left wing that's all I'm saying, but i doubt he will even start ahead of Cole most times anyway.I agree with you, you shouldn't play a whole season before 22 or 23 years. I mainly agree with you about Walker but I think there's differences with Bertrand in terms of consistency. Bertrand's limits would be from a physical point of view (with consequences on his playing level) and not straight due to his state of mind (and getting worse with the accumulation of games played)Walker was the best U21 in that awful tournament one year ago but I didn't wait to see him being overplayed overplayed to conclude he had concentration swings. Kojo 4,676
I agree with you on Betrand, let's protect him a bit and give him every chance to succeed!I DO NOT agree with you claiming Zolayes was trying to start an argument, he was simply expressing HIS opinion as every member has the right too...Chill out and stop taking things personally. You make some great posts thank add real value, but don't shoot yourself in the foot by making it personal...You don't understand, every thread i go on he quotes me and disagrees just to try and get me angry lmao, a man of his age also, it just makes me laugh when you think about it. But it's also silly, should learn to just ignore my post even if he disagrees with it, but he wouldn't because the so called wise man just wants me to get banned, his provoking will do nothing and i assure him that. He's tried to do the same with Henrique and Terminator X in the past, just a very sad person with nothing else to do. Ben. 57
Just saw this on the CFC site, great news to wake up to IMO. Ryan's a great defender, and plays a good game. I think a long term commitment can really develop him into a world class player. Well done Ryan.
Milan 17,958
If he had never made it, no one would have. I am so glad, he is definitely our next 1st choice left-back. Also I'm happy he has been so patient during all those years.
Tricky 301
Undoubtedly someone will say "Sturridge could learn something from Bertrand.", but really, they're in very different situations.I personally feel that after the Bolton loan, even though he was a big hit during AVB's tenure here, Sturridge needed another loan.I'm sure our season would have turned out very different if he did go back out on loan, but I believe it would've been best for his personal progression. Some team like Wolves or even a team like Brighton could've been good for him.Can see him stepping down a division, Swansea would have made more sense. capriccioso 2,545
This really is excellent news. He is comfortably the best player the reserve/youth set-up has produced in ages.Great. Hats off to this lad, had patience and is now being rewarded for it. If only Scott Sinclair, Fabio Borini and a few others had the patience this kid had. Absolutely delighted for him, great news.Come off it, neither Sinclair nor Borini are good enough to be starting regularly for a CL knockout stage level club. OneMoSalah 8,886
This really is excellent news. He is comfortably the best player the reserve/youth set-up has produced in ages.Come off it, neither Sinclair nor Borini are good enough to be starting regularly for a CL knockout stage level club.Ok Sinclair is extremely average but I think Borini is good. Would rather we had Torres, Sturridge and Borini than just Torres and Sturridge!
Kez 2,727
Fantastic news, just shows what patience can do for you. Will be our first choice left back within a few years.
