No creativity?, he has creativity just not as much as he should have. With the hype he has you would expect him to be better all round, rather than just someone who can dribble. Ronaldo isn't the best when it comes to creativity but he is really good at most other things. Hazard seems to be only special at one thing.

We've needed a player like him for ages now. A player who is more than adept at making good passes (Perhaps not to the level of Mata, but he is still CREATIVE) but his main strength is Dribbling, Ball control, turning and taking on players. That's what we bought him for, not Creativity which is what you seem to criticise him for. The one thing he is good at, as you say (He is better than that one thing but not according to you) is what we bought him for.

We lost today but remember we won all our pre-season matches under AVB and then what happened u all know?

That isn't an accurate argument because 1) we played against much worse teams and 2) the actual football that we played was horrible despite the victories (and apart from the odd 10 minutes here and there there doesn't seem to be much improvement

We have Mata and Oscar for creativity. Hazard adds something different, like RDM said, a player capable of taking on players and beating them one on one.

Obviously you don't know what creativity means, it could be used as another word for vision, to pick out that pass or cross. He made a very good pass to Marin and that's what i like to see but in terms of creativity that's nothing great, and it happened once.

Chris Brunt once made a great through ball to Shane Long, one of the best I've ever seen, does that make him Modric?. You're an idiotic poster, ignorant also, claiming i hate Hazard when I've never said that, one of the few I'd love to smack.

You don't often see Modric make Hollywood passes that are associated with creativity. What Modric is rated for is his ability to make the team tick.

Creativity is very hard to define. Some people see creativity as splitting the opposition defence up into pieces but I'd call that vision more than creativity. If you're trying to argue that Hazard doesn't have Pirlo vision then fair enough, but it's not like he's had the opportunity to fully showcase his vision yet.

Hazard, when he has to make the right pass, will make that pass. He's a very good passer of the ball, and his vision (or creativity in your terms) is more than decent. Hazard's best ability though is to pick up the ball and penetrate through defences. He'd rather do that than receive the ball and spray it out ala Pirlo because he's just better at running with the ball, but that doesn't mean he has no vision (or creativity in your terms). As I've said, Hazard will make the pass when he needs to.

I think you've got the wrong image of Hazard in your mind. He wasn't bought to create chances for the team. He was bought to provide pace and inject fear into the opponent with his world class close control, his ability to set the pace of the game in the attacking third, and his ability to make the right decision. His decent vision and his ability to make the right decision is why he got quite a few assists last season at Lille.

To say Hazard has "no creativity" is quite absurd though. He isn't a Pirlo or Xavi yes, but that's because he's better at penetrating through players.

To me it's arguable that Hazard is very creative in the way he dribbles past his opponent and in the way he expresses himself, but that's just down to what your definition of creativity is.

I'm tired of these comparisons. Forget about last season, forget about AVB. This is an entirely new season, and the European Super Cup final is after a month.

And what worries me is that If Milan can beat us with their average squad, then we're going to get butt fucked by Falcao and co on the 31st of August. And there's no Didier Drogba for the big occasion this time.

Do you seriously believe we're going into the season performing like that? Or playing with that XI? I feel sorry for you. It's pre-season, we're nowhere near our peak yet, we've still got a couple of weeks to get there... Have faith.

What i hate the most is when we're dominating possession and the game, then all of a sudden the other team score - one of the few times they get the ball.

This happened a lot last season, and has been happening again in preseason.

Oh yeah and when they score, we play shit for the rest of the game lol.

Agreed with that, it's because the players we had last season weren't as good at keeping possession effectively. Many of those players are still playing right now, but just wait when Mata and Oscar come back, we'll be a lot more assured in possession and we'd create a lot more too.

seen it all before. nothing to worry about. no injuries after 4 pre-season games during a summer where most of the squad were on/are on international duty in major tournaments at the end of a longer than ever season for us. one step closer to full match fitness. reasons to be cheerful.

nothing more to say in this thread for me.

Yeah i agree with that, vast majority of the time they score when we stupidly give the ball away.

I wonder what things get like after a loss that matters. The suicide hotlines must get busy then.

There will be an RDM out thread immediately we lose our first game of the season.

Actually i think there is already one from last season

Under AVB the way we played in the preseason was similar to the way we played during the season. Hopefully guys like Mata and Oscar will make the difference. But m starting to think we need a goal scorer on the right and Oscar in the double pivot.

We need a goal scorer upfront too! If Torres goes back to his form from last year (bottling open nets and playing shit) then we are fucked.

lampard is good in the double pivot. oscar can play in the final third where we need our most creative players. the goals, the movement, the pace will come very soon. just be patient. and don't worry we're not done shopping yet.

Remember the pre-season before the 2010/2011? Won only one game and lost the rest. Many tried to rationalize it with what people are currently saying on here. During the season we have are worst run of results in winter and win nothing in the season.

Thought I might just let you know that.

That pre-season was right after the World Cup, most of our players back then were not in their best form and we didn't have any new players except Benayoun.

And why look back at what happened 2 years ago? We can always recall last year's pre-season when none of us could have imagined we'd finish 6th in the league with some humiliating results and display.
