SeB 1,281
Griezmann is a player who had to play in Spain because he was refused by many youth academies in France due to his height. Our brilliant youth system prefers the athletic compartment to the intelligence of play, the reason why when you play above a certain level, kids are 1.70m at 13.Ben Arfa is well known in France since the documentary which was posted above, 8 years agoMedias can't stop speaking of those ones whereas some others are left without consideraton. Jeremy Mathieu has been "blacklisted" for that (and also because he refused to join Blanc at Bordeaux when he was at Toulouse)

I think I remember you saying that French academies prefer tall, powerful, fast atheletes to technical players. I guess I would not have done well if I was French as 173cm doens't look like it would cut the cake. The internal politics of the French national team is ridiculous. What is the documentary called? SeB 1,281
"A la Clairefontaine"We already discussed about it, there has been a controversy about envisaging quotas in Academies. One has to be very diplomatical about it because anti-racism is even more unbearable than racism in France

I remember that particular discussion now.It would help if you used the quote system more, that way I wouldn't have to guess when you have replied!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ClairefontaineLooking at that list of graduates everyone besides Thierry Henry seem so be fairly average. No offence, of course.

cadenza666 221
Hazard, Mata, Ben Arfa? Yes please.only today he talked about a move to PSG ...and we don't need him, need other positions to focus on first.
mediator 2,026
He is a true natural, epl proven, Winger.Of course he would be welcome here if we get rid of malouda, benayoun... We could have:hazard + marin as LWMata + Oscar as AMMoses + Ben Arfa as RW I don't see any problem with that with some rotation, injuries... MetsajCFC 1,255
Too moody player, it seems to me atleast, has the "star complex", also very injury plagued
didierforever 7,349
better give marin a chance with kakuta and piazon on the fringes rather than buying another winger...
Mart 29
I like Ben Arfa but I don't think he'd improve our starting line up. He's still got quite a bit of "all show no end product" to him, plus he is quite injury prone. But he's still a good player, on his day very very good indeed. Newcastle never sell people cheap though, Ba obviously being the exception because of his release clause due to his knee problems; so I highly doubt we'll sign him and if we do it would be for far too much money. Look at the Carroll deal for the sort of treatment we'd get if we approached them now.I'd much rather see us sign another striker or a deep lying playmaker. robdog 2,084
I have seen very many good arguments on why we don't need this guy, so I won't add to them. Dude is a cancer & we have enough internal problems as it is. Let homie hangout w/ Djibril Cissé & they will discuss the next club they will destroy.
