🇧🇪 Eden Hazard

Silva is the best pure no 10 now that Iniesta is on the wane. He and Hazard are not similar players but Silva is most definitely in the same class as him.We are talking about a player that's been in conversation of the best playmaker in Europe for the past 5 seasons atleast alongside Iniesta and Ozil. When he's in form, no one in world football runs the game/controls the tempo of the game like him (Xavi is semi retired and Iniesta isn't the same player anymore, so they don't count).

I dont see why people are saying Hazard should START as a #10. His role right now is fine just the way it is. He has freedom. He can roam the pitch whenever he wants. Its not like he doesnt move from the touchline. I think its smart to have him on the wing. Where he can be one on one against a defender. He capable of destroying any defender he wants imo when it comes to 1v1.

All were missing is someone who can make use of the space Hazard creates by being such a threat. Teams often double up on him and then that gives the striker & the #10 more space. But Oscar and Willian and even Cesc are often not decisive enough. Thats why I think we are one player shy of becoming a team that can go on and win the Champions League. Maybe a player like Isco or Gotze. Certainly not Moses. We need ONE more world class player going forward. Eden is already the crown jewel we just need someone to carry the load with him.

This. In the modern game, its the fullbacks who create width, the are no classical wingers anymore. Unfortunately azpi isn pegged to the byline most of the time as he has to protect terry.

He's on his wrong foot to cross. We could always move Terry to RCB along with Azpi and that would solve the problem and we use baba or x LB on the left, but Iva is going nowhere.

It's not about width, though. It's simply about having a partner for Eden that defenders won't sag off.

Absent in a big game.

True. Also: not being played at all by the team . Are they thinking about their own 'individual performance indicators' to prove their worth? It sounds like a lot of big companies' management teams. We will have poor team performance if people don't realise trying to get individual points make us worse.

Ps: there is a lot of research on this topic btw. See Kluger and Denisi for a meta-analyses on individual performance goals and the effects on group performance.

Difference between him and Ronaldo is basically that if Ronaldo has a shit match with Real playing shite in a big game, he still takes 10 shots and as many attempts to dribble. He sends those 10 shots into the stands and slips twice on his own redundant stepover for everyone to poke fun at him. Next week, he takes those 10 shots again, scores 2 screamers, everyone celebrates him as the best. Point is, you have to take risks to be the best

Should have scored. Bums like Ramires can miss but he should have taken that chance.

First mistake was to take one extra touch, second was to loose all composure and just slap a shot into orbit. He's a way better finisher than that.

He hardly ever tries to score by chips unlike other players at his level. Too many times he just tries a clean finish and ends up placing the directly at the goalkeeper. What he did today was something else and a really bizarre try really. You don't see Messi messing up such a chance like that.

My dad even said 19 year old Bellerin owned Hazard two games in a row.

Bellerin "owned" Hazard ? lol. Sure cause Hazard had so many opportunities to go 1 on 1 with him...

For the majority of the game Hazard didn't even go up against Bellerin. Hazard spent most of his time drifting centrally between the lines or dropping deep, in our own half, to pick up the ball.
