Next summer he'll be 28, i cant see teams still being interested in £150m+ player who can only give 2/3 prime years. IF he does go, i agree we need to replace with 2 to 3 top level players or top potential rather than 4 or 5 average £40m players as Spurs did after BaleThink it's more up to Real at this point. We could have built something truly special around this guy. Some of you may call me crazy for saying that we have not done great things with Eden because he has titles in his cabinet... but it really could have been more, sooo much more. manpe 10,861 Posted March 4, 2018 Share Posted March 4, 2018 The false 9 thing only ever works for possession based teams. We don't use him as a false 9 in the sense that you would expect. I don't even know what his function is up top considering he is treated like a striker the team is used to playing with, but that renders him useless because he isn't a suitable striker for a team struggling with the ball, HE is the one supposed to help keep possession and carry the ball upfield to the striker. We have fit Morata and Giroud, but we play one of them for 15 minutes while trailing.
