Sorry but I might upset some peeps here but Eden should have been banned for diving. That was no way in hell a penalty and an out n out dive.

Its my pet hate and I reckon no matter who does it they deserve either a ban by FA or the club.

It pissed me right off when Drogs did it and coulda shook Luiz warmly by the throat when he giggled like a schoolgirl on the floor.

Its only when the camera gets brought into play and players start getting a right bollocking that it will stop.

That was not a dive. There was clear touch but yes Hazard fell theatricaly. Still it was touch and penalty.

If hazard didnt fell so dramaticaly ref might not call for spot.

As much as I agree with you about diving, not sure that’d be a bookable offence.

retroactive bans for diving would solve the issue imo.

the difficult thing is that some dives aren’t really about gaining an advantage but for protection. It’s known that when being tackled it is a lot safer to not have your feet fully planted on the ground. Not in edens case here though as his foot was high up anyway.

The David luiz incident was not even a dive... he was laughing because the opponent lost his head and fouled him, which was desirable at the moment - we were ahead and also led to a red. Always thought ppl read that incorrectly as a dive.

I only want eden hazard to leave this january transfer window.

just so I can watch the talkchelsea and chelsea fans meltdown on this forum.

plus all the other football fans will all come and view all chelsea forums to see how chelsea fans will react.

the talkchelsea servers will crash with all the traffic that will be happening once hazard leaves chelsea.

this forums servers won't be able to handle the traffic and pressure put on these servers.

Lol a dive is when someone simulates contact when there isn't any. Both in Luiz and Hazard's situations there was contact.

It's really simple, Bellerin didn't get the ball and kicked Hazard on the inside of the foot. It's a penalty all day long. I don't care how hard or how soft it was.

Contact = penalty.

Honestly i don't get why people have such difficult time with this.

HAZARD REJECTS DEAL

Chelsea's Eden Hazard has rejected a second contract offer amid Real Madrid interest, according to the Daily Star.

The Belgian’s current contract expires in 2020 and while the Blues want to tie him down to a longer deal, Hazard is stalling on committing as it is thought he is holding out for an offer from the La Liga club.

Think the paper should stick with tits n ass honk honk

Do you know what an out and out dive is? You go down without contact, the likes of Ronaldo and Neymar are masters at that. Bellerin didn't get the ball, his foot was high and he kicked Eden's shin(?). He added some theatrics to the fall, but that isn't a dive when in principal it is a foul. If he had somehow managed to keep his balance, you can bet the ref wouldn't have given anything, when in reality the pen should have been given in spite of him falling or staying up. That's why players sometimes overreact, Gary Neville explained it well. WAS a foul, NOT a dive... even experts in sky studios agreed with that including an ex-referee.

that's not correct: contact does not mean penalty or a foul and there is def diving even with contact.

Contact happens all the time in football. By the rulebook contact does not equate foul, even though we hear it all the time. The question is always does the illegal contact (there is also legal contact e.g shoulder to shoulder) cause enough disruption to prevent the player from proceeding? If the answer is yes, then it is a PK or a foul, but if no, then it isn't and it could perhaps be a bookable offense if the ref thinks it's too blatant.

This is very difficult to assess esp live, and like I said, sometimes players protect themselves by jumping or falling.

With that out of the way, I kinda agree with you that it might have been a PK, even if a soft one. His foot was kicked in the air, and it might have been just enough to throw him off balance, which automatically makes it a non-bookable offence even if you think it's was dive (it prob wasn't).

I hate to sound like an Arsenal fan here, but it would be like a new signing if he renewed. Don't even know where we'd begin in the search for his replacement(s). There isn't any one player out there at a smaller club with Eden's ability that we could buy. We'd have to bring in 2-3 top players to make up for his loss.

I swear all these uncertainties - Hazard's/Conte's/Courtois' futures, our transfer business etc - are not doing any good for my health. It's so f***ing depressing every time when you think about them!

HAZARD TO SNUB REAL?

Eden Hazard is set to snub a move to Real Madrid and sign a deal that will make him the highest paid player in the Premier League, according to the Sunday Express.

The newspaper reports that Hazard's representatives and Chelsea have been locked in contract talks, with Real Madrid's hierarchy not keen on shelling out a rumoured £120m for the Belgian.

Ha 120mill try 220mill buyout clause i say
